You actually trust the UN??? They've predicted this same bullshit for the last 50 years. By 10 years ago there were not supposed to be any glaciers.
right...they didn't make the environment do what they promised it was going to do...not like they've had a lot of experience with predicting the consequences of people fucking up the entire world...and that obviously means they're liars, out to fuck over the world for the obvious reason...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................¿
oh, and it's just coincidental that we're having more major storms, that are worse than they've ever been...ignore those men polluting the world behind that curtain. it's just an odd coincidence that the worlds glaciers are losing trillions of tons to melt per year now...
you have the worlds rich, who own the shit that is poisoning all of us, denying it around the cigar clutched in their teeth...and you have the UN, who doesn't own all the shit killing all of us...so obviously the people with no vested interest in killing us all, are the ones killing us all... :wall:

What an absurd reply. gl with that.

Missed your edit or just high and blind. It’s a combination of different factors but imagine the area of The Hague, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Utrecht as being “the city” and Eindhoven area another city and the rest cunt farmer areas where they do produce offspring that ends up going to college and universities who want a job in “the west” or “the city”. Another major more recent contributor is the insane housing shortage and costs in the city. Either get a real house with garden and drive 1-3 hours per day, or live in a noisy busy city in a smaller 2-3x as costly apartment or small house. Above all, it’s kinda normal. Since a few years people on welfare have to apply for jobs regularly. If they can’t find one in 6 months, they have to search within a 90min radius instead of the default 60min (2hours drive per day, roughly 100km/60miles radius). Hardly enforced but they can’t complain about the distance simply cause it’s not considered “so long”.
Damn. I was hoping housing was handled better than here.

Hello mates,
This is my 1st post on RIU and this thread caught my eye
It seems to me that the bloke that posted it must be a miserable sod.
It appears he has no faith in the ability of the inhabitants of this orbiting rock to survive the cataclysmic events that are wreaking havoc around the globe now.
Just minor setbacks me thinks.
Here in Ireland the weather is grand.
It doesn't rain near as much as it used too & warm sunny days are the norm now.
It used to be cold and wet, but no more thank God!
It seems to this bog man from the West of Ireland that there's no real worry about a few floods and droughts and fires and hurricanes
Much ado about some minor devastation.
I have faith in the ability of Mankind to survive against seemly inevitable destruction.
Just have faith in the Lord above and I say 5 Hail Marys & 10 Our Fathers every morning when I awaken just to save the planet
And for good measure I toss in a few Acts of Contrition. (it won't hurt I figure)
Just have Faith in the Lord above
and Elon Musk.

This my home in Galway and I know it needs a little work, but in the spring, I'll just throw some more seed up on the roof and it'll be fine (no more leaks)
All I'll need then is some more sheep, electricity, a colleen to call me own and the Internet, then a subscription to Amazon Prime and Netflix and a few more sheep and I'll be all set.

These are the only sheep I have now (I call them Moe, Larry & Curly) but there's a ram the next field over and I have plans for that boyo :)

Ah well, it's time to choke the chicken for dinner.
I have a feeling I have a new home here on RIU & Politics especially.
I like it already and am looking forward to making a friend, seeing as I only have one here, Paddy the Drunk, and sometimes I think he only likes me because I buy him Porter and whiskey and then carry him home to his shed.
Maybe I might even learn how to grow some dank bud here
That would be luvly.
Slante!
welcome. i'm curious, why do your sheep look like they have 4 eyes? not a sheep expert, is that a scent gland? or just coloration?

Now you made me google stuff. I half-remembered that our modern species is 100 thousand years old. Turns out it’s twice that by current consensus, which works with your event age. . . . . . . . .

(edit) thanks for the link!
In round numbers, the first generically successful modern humans left Africa about 75K years ago. (The Toba event helps us date everything older than 74K, and folks had made it about 1000 miles by the time of eruption) At least one group made it to modern day Israel 180K years ago, but they did make it in the long run. But some would say that is close enough to Africa not to count for much.

it was a 2022, kia soul, Kia and hyndai are being stolen by kids with a usb cord because the manu didnt make proper vehicles,

mine which was supposed to have an immobilizer , but its actually kias 2022 after a specific month ...

either way, they totaled the fucking car , thankfully as far as i know the kids are okay, ive heard of some news reports where teens are dying over this challenging by crashing the cars/accidents

it sucks cause i bought it prior to this whole tik tok challenge, and was under the impression i was safe from it, but i still did things to protect myself and int he end they gotme at 2pm downtown in under 2 mins
that sucks; this has been a problem with Kia/Hyundai for some time - I believe a couple of state AGs are considering legal action due to the increase in crime this MASSIVE oversight has caused; producing a vehicle in this day and age without an immobilizer is as much an oversight as not including a USB port.

probably the worst time to buy a used car as most have held their value extremely well due to the supply shortages; not the best time to purchase new, either, but at least you don't have to worry about how well the previous owner maintained the vehicle
actually all year has been a great time to buy new if you consider the cost of used vehicles being identical to new or just barely below msrp. I’ve been through 3 this year every time with more than it cost in value as a trade in

I need a hatch back 100% because I do like markets so i need to fit 6 foot tent (that collasps) my market tables and all my stuff I sell, thats a large portion of my job from spring to christmas.

I dont like too long of vehicles, i dont like a big back, nor a long front. I really dont like how every car just looks very rounded,
I prefer to have just the rearview camera, no driver assist, and bluetooth car play I dont wanna have to plug in my fucking phone everytime i get in thedamn thing.

I like not too small, but not big. and i like to go fast...
Im kinda picky, and im kinda thinking like... theres nothing on the market except what I had with what i loved. and im super bummed.
I went from a Taco to a 2023 Subaru crosstrek Limited last month and holy shit am I in love. It’s been a pleasure to drive and for the price it’s extremely well rounded/feature loaded

lol... sure, if comparing current new prices vs current used prices a new vehicle could seem like a deal - if you can find what you want, and if the dealer hasn't added a 'market adjustment,' which can push the cost far beyond MSRP.
I just took a peak at a few Ford dealers - the MSRP+$15k for a 2022 Raptor isn't too unusual (they were going for MSRP+$5k when I took a hard look at them in 2019), but the $15k-$20k over MSRP on a Ford Maverick seems a bit excessive.
enjoy the Subie, but be sure to trade-in before the CVT takes a crap...

I have been appalled by used prices.
'unprecedented' would be the polite way to describe it, though 'fucking insane!' is probably more accurate...

in the last year I have seen multiple instances of 2-3 year old Toyota Tacomas selling at $3k-$4k over MSRP - and then appreciating $2k-$3k in value over the following few months until they were totaled.

and there's this:

Three-year-old vehicles sold for 74 percent of sticker price in the fourth quarter of 2021, according to J.D. Power — far above the previous high of 54 percent sticker set by 3-year-old vehicles in 2011.

what is truly scary is the number of folks financing the purchase of a 15 or 20 year old vehicle...

simple people stop at headline woes.

You shared the worst case example possible (ford MAP markups which made headlines everywhere) in an attempt to dismiss anyone with the means/interest to do so capitalizing on the anomaly that has been the last 18-24 months. Shopping dealers is easy too

I haven't checked in a couple years to see how A plan discounts with Ford are, but you got me curious.
