ChilLED grow light

ive used and tested osram/sylvania I havent put them in the sphere but they are actually just about all the same as any other of the A19 bulbs in efficacy and heat generation.

i certainly havent seen any indication that they are heads above any other out there

these mfrs have a pretty low bar (100-110 lm/W) to hurdle with their designs to meet energy star standards and none of them need to use top bin diodes or go super low current to do it

my favorite bulb ive found so far are the walmart great value brand because they have the most substantial heatsinks

every bulb i mention and have used tested is non/dimmable btw

anyway im done with discussion here if youd like to pick it up, take it to the brightstik thread no need to hijack chillled thread
Yeah whatever.

9 - 4xcxb3590 - HLG-185-C1400B - $4k basic easy $5k.
I would take two built fixtures for the price of building 9 fixtures of equal power.
Why did you get figures like $5000? it would cost nowhere near such amount.

You must be joking? Did Chilled also give you a job?

You can DIY with cobs at same wattages as prebuilt kits for MUCH MUCH cheaper.

That was diy cost with one cob psf. I work for me. I don't work for chilled or any other light supplier. I bought 300w and I am quite happy. The chilled board replaced 8 cobs 2 drivers heat sink etc etc etc. 300w $300 reused heat sinks and drivers with fans total cost $300. Worked for me.

Nine 200w rigs compared to the same chilled watts apples to apples comparison easy to read I was quite fair and detailed. 200w cob rig costs min $500 no frames. 9 x $500 $4500. I hate doing opm other peoples math

So it seems you are joking... a 200W cob rig does not cost min $500, stop talking rubbish, it really makes it look like you are advertising other peoples products.

You can build a 200W cob build for under $300, not $500...

Are you using prices from CREE CXA from 3 years ago to try to save face?

Dont worry about doing any maths for me, its crystal clear that you cant even do it for yourself, let alone other people.

I cant be bothered to get the lowest prices here to prove my point, but I dont need to as your builds so overpriced it doesnt matter.

Heres an overpriced 200W COB build coming at still under $300, not the $500 like you said.

4 x Citizen 1212 = $55,
HLG driver = $65,
4 heatsinks = $100
Bits and bobs(screws, frame, wire) = $50
Total = $270.

Still under my $300 estimate.

And if you wanted to could probably get the build for under $200 if you shopped around.

ive never even heard of chilledLED.

I'm from WA not much LED stuff up there. people like : connor McCarthy and Lymn Jackson are big LED guys up there.

WA has some of the cheapest electricity, so HPS is cheaper to run there, then LED's in SoCal.

the climate also suits HPS lighting.

anyone know what he is doing, are his future design ideas going to be filtered though chilled? I hope not because he has taught a lot of people, myself included about the hobby and the use of LED's.
Nah he said on his youtube that his youtube WILL NOT mention chilled boards. Hes gonna keep the chilled stuff on chilleds youtube and his page will be the same as it is

I emailed chilled the other day, as im looking at grabbing one of their 600 or 800 watt lights for my one 4x4 tent. I have a tent with 630 cmh, built a citizen 1212 cob setup for veg and I might do a setup for flower in a tent, and like i said gonna grab a chilled and compare the 3 before I go and finish converting my whole setup to some new tech, whichever it may be. (honestly leaning toward chilled, DIY with their boards make it much cheaper than their commercial sets as well) ANYWAY, the purpose of this post, I emailed chilled and growmou5 responded. He told me their boards are 2.67umol/j and that 486 watts of chilled would directly replace my 1k SE hps.

Once I get my chilled light going (likely within the month) ill be sure to post some logs to compare chilled and cmh at least for now.

I was reading the Chilled site and took a look at the UVA section, followed the references. Apparently at low light levels UVA can increase growth. Reading other sources I found that the effect seems to be caused by UVA causing Chlorophll to flouresce, like a black light poster, which supplies a little extra light. The maximum rsponse was right at the chlorophll fluorescence light band, 340 nm. I suspect that at high light levels the effect would be negligible.

This page says that filtering UVA and/or B from sunlight increased growth of soybeans substantially. That would be high light levels so probably similar to most grow setups. Haven't investigated it further at the moment, but just pointing out that it's not entirely proven that adding UVA to LED grow lights is beneficial. We would have to see a side by side, now wouldn't we? Well, well, look who is working for Chilled now, Mr LED Grow Light Authority himself, and I think you know who I mean. So get cracking, nameless Chilled employee, who has to say yes sir, Mr Chilled, I will get your coffee cuz I had to rent myself out as a fucking slave cuz I'm an utter failure at growing weed.

i hate to say youre embarrassing yourself, but wow.

Gmau5 is solid and has contributed more to the community in just the last 18 mos than just about anybody, and is a nice. humble person who always makes time to help people. Your post is literally the first bad thing ive ever seen written about him (pretty rare on this cesspool)

Point proven x2 lol.

Cannot see how VegasWinner has to audacity to quote $500.

Im going to use cobkits.com and some other sites to get a up to date price list for a 200W built, wouldnt mind betting it comes in at around $200 - $230.
$2.50/watt per cree cob. try being honest abnf fair. compare cheap $10 cobs to $40 cobs no problem. buy cheap cobs and compare to a cadillac. not a fair comparison but hey your world, make it what you want. buy cree cobs for $10 not happening compare cree to chilled cheap is cheap anyone can make an argument for cheap and you did. LOL

ahem I have plenty of lights, I retired cobs because they cause hermies from heat. enjoy. I build my own DIY including my own pcb's. arguing that chilled row lights are more expensive than cobs what a joke. make more jokes. get cheap grow cheap, but don't picvk on others for their choices while you choose cheap.

CREE cobs are not $40, again your using prices going back 3 years ago in a poor attempt to save face because you were called out on the false information you posted.

Its better you stop digging yourself a deeper hole and admit you overpriced.

Later tonight I will get some prices for latest end high bin veros and crees, it still wont be anywhere near $500.

Regards

timber kit cree cob cxb3590 $400/200w x 9 = 3600 no frames yet just the kit get busy lying to compare fairly. you have shown your inability to be fair. I am going to ignore you as you are NOT honest

Its you thats doing the "picking" and trying to talk down on people.

If you want to pay $749 for a 200W light when you can build an equivilant yourself with cobs providing better uniformity for $350 then thats your own waste of hard-earned money.

Also what a useless post saying COBS cause hermies from heat. According to the constraints of physics(which all lights operate under) 200W of light is 200W of light. The same heat is generated overall.

Stop talking rubbish, its better to just admit you overpriced and move on. I can tell the way your posting your getting angry and going to continue posting nonsense.
