Taking a nice trim break so I thought I'd come back here
Anyway Chewy all the pics I posted are of hash I made with Frenchy's methods.....BUT the second to last pic is some hash I made the other day from fresh (dried maybe 2 days, not FRESH, FRESH, but far from dry) trim. I'd say although all of the hash I have made with frenchy's methods was fully dabable, the fresh trim hash was indeed a slight bit better.
Frozen is another story and like SirDabs said, the batches I have made with frozen (fresh and dry) trim came out with more chlorophyll in the water and hash which then has to be sprayed out with water, exposing your hash to water for a longer period of time. The hash was still great at the end, but it took a few minutes of pressure spraying with ice water to clean the hash of chlorophyll, and I'd prefer it to not be there in the 1st place.
Not using a work bag actually seems to make the agitation more gentle as the trim does not have as much friction working between them, same reason for using as little ice as possible. I'm basically just using enough ice for the water to be 32 degrees always, but no more. With 32 degree water, a few ice cubes keeping it 32, and loose trim in the machine...the trim is washed extremely gentle and the water is perfectly clear most of the time when I drain it.
As far as cleaning the loose trim out after washing it, it is much easier than I though before trying. I just use my hand to scoop most of it out in a big "trim wad" and then spend a few min. rinsing clean water through it and getting all the little bits.
Of course all the methods out there people are using to make full melt are wonderful perhaps you will like Rize's or another persons methods more. Frenchy's methods have proved the best for me and have really turned me into a hash lover
Cheers!
