Why does my bud get soft/moist after being put in a jar? almost seems like it lost its smell. Will that dank smell come back or did I screw it up??/?
 
How long did you dry it for? Air you burping your jars several times a day so moisture doesn't build up in the jar? When you jar weed, the residual moisture that is trapped inside redistributes throughout the bud, so what seemed dry returns to a moist state. I like to pull all my weed out of the jar and toss it around in a large bowl and then repack it. Makes sure no mold happens.
 
Yea, I’ve been burping the jars but compared to the first day the smell and the taste is just not there. Before I jarred the bud I smoked some while it was still crispy and it tasted/smoked great. When I smoke it now, the first hit taste good and then like crap after that and it doesn’t burn very well. After they dry back out will the smell/taste come back?
Right now I know how to grow some dank, killer weed from seed to harvest. But I have no clue about drying and curing. I guess I overlooked one of the most important part of growing when I researched.
 
I left a few small buds out on a piece of paper untill it was crispy again. They had the skunk smell when I broke them up, and they tasted good. Seems like the small jars that are crisping up are smelling good again too.
 
How long is long enough, when drying? How many days to get a good tasing smoke? What are the signs of being ready? What does curing do?

After the initial hang dry (7-10 days), I put the manicured buds into brown paper bags for 3-4 days. This allows for the moisture in the middle of the bud to be drawn out, and it ensures that your bud is dry all the way through. After that I put them into jars for 2-3 weeks and burp them 3 times a day for 15 min or so. When burping make sure you mix the buds up in the jars so they all get fresh air. Well, it gets you high doesn't it? If you don't like the taste at all, you could make your crop into hash. That'll taste like . . . .hash!
 
I read that if you bud under a MH light that your buds will be more potant then if you bud under a HPS light. Is this true??
