I was aroused when I saw them.yup they are dope. I like working with the push in connectors rather than the wago lever nuts. winds up being a smaller footprint vs multiple wagos as well.
much easier. they must have a little spring mechanism in them vs how the ones on strips are just opening a clasp or something when u press to remove them.I was aroused when I saw them.

I don't know which best is my fave anymore, I like them all, maybe except for the 2700k/6500k version. I'd love a 4000k/2700k version, easier to bring both channels in flower but still enough blue to do a good vegg. Thrive is very nice but I don't know if I'd rather add that extra blue thru monos. With covid UV diodes have become much cheaper and viable. Been looking long and hard at making some strips but I can't seem to keep my money in the bank for long enough, new flat got me zeroed out again. But I might be able to squeeze a small tent in here. But likely I'd do shrooms for starting out.What a great resource & help he is!!

Did you wire the king brite strips in series with some of the whites strips?. And if you wired them seperate as their own 48v series would you worry about thermal run away? I built this one for a friend like that; 3 vestas and 1 strip with 630/660 mix in 2 parallel strings, with one 4 Vesta circuit for the perifery. Favorite light I built, spectrum control separate dimming for the centre and perifery and added reds on the same circuit.View attachment 4928495
thats why i like cutters "posh" version of the thrive, 5000k nichia optisolis on one channel and 2000k nichia on the other, i think you get a lot more flexable/useable spectrum, downside being they are quite expensive and the efficiancy isnt great... but look at that spectrum...I don't know which best is my fave anymore, I like them all, maybe except for the 2700k/6500k version. this is what i have been thinking for my next project, custom 3 channel FAT strip, 75mm x 580mm. not a side by side multi channel strip like the vestas or the boundary riders, i want all the diodes mixed in together for better spectrum blending but still multi channel.Been looking long and hard at making some strips
I was thinking about supplementary strips with monos, with a little work you can do those at home, just need some basic equipment and the pcbs. Having to deal with white diodes basicly means that you have to use a pick and place which is beyond my possibilities. i like you think you could have a mainly white diode 2700k 90cri spectrum on channel 1 for bulk flowering - probs about 85% total diode count, then on channel 2 a blue mono mix or maybe something like tekniks pc blue + blue mono mix for running harder at start of flower or pre flower/veg - probs about 10 to 15% total diode count, then far red on channel 3 - probs about 1 to 2% total diode count.
i think that would give you a really versitile do it all 3 channel light that gives you control of what really matters...
and i thought if i was going that far i would like to design a push fit pcb for connecting the strips together, no more ridiculous amounts of wiring, wago's ect...

i think peter r1 over on ledgardener bought some old cheap samsung strips just for the pcb's and swapped out the diodes, not sure if he used a hotplate/converted clothes iron or hot air rework gun for the soldering of the diodes, but thats defo a possability for home diy...
yer you would have to check the data sheet for the contact patch/solder points on the diodes and compare to the pcb footprint, but their can be a bit of leyway ie i know a 3030 nichia package will fit and work on a 2835 cree footprint pcb...My idea was to try to score some together with my next Ali buy. i love the little adjustable mono diode placement brackets you made so you can get them monos where you need em...nice!Here's one I've been playing with.
- T bar on the back so all the supplemental Cree colors can be swapped/slid ect with a twist.
- L09 strips from arrows last sale. Lm301a-if I'm not mistaken. 3.5k- 48v/1380mA.
-Cree xp-G3's- far red, photo red , infrared. Got some green as well but need some more research. Just waiting on the 660s being used on a run and then I can finish . Drivers prob won't be mounted on the frame... late veg/flower light. I've made a 4-5k with royals for seedling/veg.
