WASHINGTON – It may be the issue few in the media dare address, but a new scientific public opinion survey of a cross-section of Americans shows they are not only aware of questions about Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility for office, but almost half are either "troubled" by the questions or believe he should release all relevant documents including his long-form birth certificate.
Asked if they are aware of the questions raised about Obama's constitutional eligibility for office, 51.3 percent answered affirmatively, while only 18.7 percent said no. Another 30 percent said they were unsure.
"Our polling shows that the questions surrounding Barack Obama's eligibility to serve as president clearly strike a nerve across America, probably because it is a problem that everybody understands," said pollster Fritz Wenzel. "Every American citizen has a birth certificate, and once in a while we all have to produce them to get a drivers license or gain entrance to school. Everyone understands the simple rules – if you don't produce it, you don't get in. And while Obama did get in to the White House, nearly half the country's adults – 49 percent – are troubled by this issue and still want him to produce his official long-form birth certificate."

Truthers claim a third to half of people think 9/11 was an inside job, that does not make it any less stupid.

I don't know about that 1/3 to 1/2 number I think its more like 3-5%.

Only... this article is from november 2004, and Obama wasn't sworn in until 2005. I am sure that was a typo... or... or is it a fact? I am so easily confused.

An inaudible interview, in a different language, over the phone, with someone who claims to be the same Barack Obama's grandmother. This is no different than me saying I am Obama's cousin, and I know his grandmother in Kenya, and that wasn't her. Completely irrelevant.

I am not sure what this is meant to prove. He was adopted by Lolo and has a half sister. He went to school in Indonesia. You are not required to renounce your citizenship in America to be a citizen of Indonesia. We are one of the few countries who requires it to become an American.

If I need to show my Actual long form copy of the "Original" birth certificate it only takes a phone call and about an hours time to get it. How come its taken Obama almost a year to produce his? You would think he could get it done even faster than I can considering he is the "Pres" and all. How convenient that Hawaii doesn't issue long forms nor will it make copies. I actually believe he IS a citizen, but why all this hiding and skirting the issue with him, produce the proof and shut them all up. I would have thought you would absolutely need to show the long form to run for the top office in the land, they made me produce one when I joined the military, and when I got my Driver License, but hell they don't care about it if you want to be commander in chief?...makes my Common Sense powers tingle. Sure maybe it is just the hard line right wingers that have influenced the process, or maybe there is some impropriety going on? Hard to decide sometimes.

HMM yeah what should we "Do" to him if it were somehow proven that he is not a Citizen of the USA? treason charges? Death Penalty? How about 300 million counts of fraud? 1 count for each American he duped?

I think you bring up a good point. At some point the DNC knew he had paperwork issues and decided to give him a pass. This may go much deeper than the President alone. This has the potential to be the biggest scandal ever. Nixon is starting to look like a boy scout.
