The tray i would assume..I'm not really sure what this has to do with anything, but you have the environment locked in nicely.

I use mine to help stir my organic nutes..
Or get battery powered kerosene pump!Check out a beer syphon. One end in pot other in drain pan. Pump and wait.
They need to be up off the ground.

Then a strip of capillary matt will drain everything to the lowest point.
That’s gonna be how I set it up next run.I use a shop vac as well. It is metal and rusting. See if you can find one with a plastic tank. They are sometimes a pan in the ass to empty, I make a mess. The drip pan you have is great, I have the same thing except my drip pan is bigger than the stand inside of it. I made a major upgrade to a shelf unit.
A wire rack/shelf unit. I only use one shelf about 6-8 inches above the floor. The plants sit on the shelf and the drip pans slide in and out as needed to empty water. It sure makes it easy for me to water and clean up.
Nice I’ve never heard of this method but it looks very smart and simpleThey need to be up off the ground.

I use the recommended 10-20% overflow. This is a lot of water to sponge.I fretted about this issue for a while but settled on just using a good sponge. Hit all four sides and it pretty much soaks all the overflow right up. Then I wring into a bucket which is discarded in my backyard.
Next time you fret over this try a lower chord or maybe go higher if you have the energy.I fretted about this issue for a while but settled on just using a good sponge.
