I'm at about 44 days of veg and I decided to switch to flowering cycle today. I left the lights off during the day, and swapped my 400w mh bulb with a 400w hps... after a few hours of this light and my plant is not looking so hot... I even raised the light a little after changing the bulb (about 18" to top of plant). What is wrong? I figured she would have loved the new light!!

Looks like it need some water. Is the soil dry, or, are you positive that the HPS is causing the drooping?

heat stress and no water, bad combo = death. Spray them with soda water (non salted) from a grocery store. It will give them a much needed boost in co2 as well as hydrate them some. water the hell out of it. As long as the excess can drain out, no worries. Keep an eye on them for a few days, real close, and you should be fine. If your plants are not getting enough air movement you can get o2 pockets in your canopy and it will cause the same effect you see here. My advice, water, spray with soda water, and turn some fans on, should be ok.

not that I have ever seen. Unless your going from a larger light source to a smaller light source.

I think you guys were right... I just gave her a good watering and she perked up in no time. Was very strange however, how she looked great right before the light came on, and immediately started wilting. I guess she needed a drink of water while she was sunning.

Thanks everyone for the help!

I have my dark period during the day... its gets a little warm in my apt, but not too hot... probably highs at mid 80s in the closet I'm guessing. Should I have fans on during the dark period if theres no air coming in?

^I kick my fans on a couple times during the dark period, for 15 minutes at a clip, because i believe it helps against mold/fingus/mildew/etc.....

1 more quick question... will my plant need more water during the flowering process? I guess it partially has to do with the light and duration of lighting... maybe the lack of "sun" hours will keep the soil wet longer? no idea...
