Hi everyone,
Trying my hand at 3 Zkittles OG Auto growing in 5 gallon smartpots in my backyard. The tricky part of this is that, having the plants in a backyard in a city, I'll have to move the plants a bit to get the most out of the sun. But at least it's well ventilated.
For the soil mix, I'm following @Budzbuddha FFOF ideas because it just made a lot of sense.
Right now the 5 gallos pots consist of:
  • 2/3 of the top pot with 75% Happy Frog / 25% perlite
  • A layer of 2tbs of myco/ 2 tbs Dr Earth Homegrown / 2 Tbs Dr Earth Homegrown / 2Tbs Dr Earth Pure Gold
  • 1/3 of the bottom pot with 75% FFOF / 25% perlite
The plan is to let the soil do its work and only top dress as needed with FFOF and myco. Watering with water around PH 6.4ish.

As of right now, the soil is mixed and planning on germinating with paper towels tomorrow night.
Hopefully it all goes well. I'll try to keep this log as much as I can and definitely welcome any comments or ideas.

Went 3 for 3 on germinating with paper towel. 2 had the taproot fully out and the third one was barely breaking out but I decided to put all in the soil at the same time. They pots had a bit of morning sun but temperature has been above 90 so keeping them shaded and spraying a bit with 6.5ph water if I see the topsoil get too dry. Hoping to see some leaves in the next few days.

I guess I went 2/3. One of the seeds didn’t pop above the soil so germinated a Jack Herer freebie I got in that third pot. This time did seed in a jar with water as soon as I saw tap root, 24h or so, dropped in the soil.
I’m afraid the two other plants that did get above the soil got overheated during last weeks heatwave. Haven’t seen too much growth from them. I’ll give them another week and see where they are. But looks like I learned a lesson about proper shading when they’re babies.
