ok guys quick question on Autoflowerers .. or a couple .... 1. Smallest recommendable pot size 2. whether to use nutes in a rich soil blend 3. do they like more N, P, or K for their life cycle
Hey I just finished my first auto grow and I would say not smaller than a gallon. Ive read you can get around 12in per gallon depending on which auto you grow. yes on the nute rich soil..I started the seeds in a Miracle grow soil in a 4in pot then transplanted in soil from outside which is rich in goat n cow shit among others..the soil here is very good in some areas...as autos have a short veg state so better higher P & K but still need some Nitrogen..hope that helps some...the lil bit I can say..

on autos if the strain is a drwarf than yes 1gl is fine. and yes in rich soil would be good so you dont half to give it any nutes, for 2-3 weeks then 4 and 5 weeks nute it , then reg... water 6-7 to harvest. works for me.

Hey guys. I've got 2 lowryder 2s growing under CFL's. They are almost 3 weeks old but look no older than 2 weeks old. Possibly because i had low humidity at the start of my grow. They are back on track now, growing well but are obviously small for their age. Any advice on action to take, or am I just gonna have to accept that this will mean a smaller yield?

Pics available on request

^sounds like one of two things is happening here:

1. you are doing something wrong and you stunted her... Smaller yield is okay, you learned a valuable lesson.

(or)

2. It's just an auto being an auto... If she hasn't showed sex yet, just be patient. Autoflowers seem to almost stop growing before they sex... Then they show sex, and BAM! Explosive growth rate from there.

so for now I would just recommend relaxing, and waiting to see what your plant tells you. You'll know what's going on soon enough.

EDIT: please post pics... What is your light cycle? What wattage and spectrum are your CFLs? What, if any, nutes are you using?

hey Showhard... Thanks I wish the other seeds of easy that I have would come out with the same shape but prob not.. each easy I see looks a lil different...So how did yours turn out ...? did they dry ok..Im gettin humidity prob in the dry room..since i got back its been raining crazy...

Hey bro, i chopped right around the 1st of the month. Have some post chop pics posted 2 or 3 pages back. Pretty descent I think, for my first.

Got next phase rockin too.

currently waitin on my sweet stank to come back. (After chop & dry I was really surprised by how little funk I smelled).

Pretty much just smelled like hay, or some other very strong vegetative type smell. But they def. are gettin betta by the day.

Lookin like i'm gonna finish round 5-6 zips. Which again for my cherry breakin grow, I am pleased with.

Lemme know what that girl ends up givin ya

I think number 1 is probably more likely. But the problem IS sorted now. They are growing fine. They are just behind schedule I think.

I've got them on 18/6 cycle. Using 115 watts of 2700k and 90 watts of 6400k. No nutes as yet, because they are in John Innes compost which contains nutes.

These both sprouted 19 days ago. The pots are about 4 inches in diameter and about 4 inches tall.

Yeah they are behind, either that or they are just going to be tiny plants. maybe you will end up with some of those 4-6 inchers. which sucks. But who knows, they might take off soon.

it looks to me like you will end up with some of those mini-plants like outdoor was saying.

what nutes are in that compost? Was it possibly too hot for them as seedlings?

autos are unstable. you might get some that grow good and then some dont, thats just the way it is. when you start messing with genetic, thats what happens.thats why they are call hybreds.

Sorry I didnt read thru all the posts, but Im thinking of trying some autos. I live in a frost free climate, wondering if theyll grow all year good here? Since ruderalis is from almost the arctic, I figure theyll do better with cold. Has anyone noticed better growth in cold? (Its still cool here in winter)

Also just double checking, are most auto strains stable? If I keep a male for some seeds, should I get the same strain back again? Thanks

autos have a shelf life. meaning they will die. nothing you can do about that. but the good thing is you get bud quicker than a regular plant. thats is also why they are not stable. you can plant 10 seeds from the same strain and get 10 differnt plants. meaning they could be 18 inchest tall, or 2 inches tall. just never know. autos are design buy man not by mother nature, hence f1 or f2 hybreds. they have came along way, sence they first came out and most will grow just fine. i have had them from a 2 hit bud to an oz of bud. and cannabis will not like the cold, thats why we grow indoors in the winter. you can use the males, to pollinate a female and get seed. auto to auto that is. i dont know what would happen if you did a auto and a regular plant.

that why they bud automatic by geneticlly design,

Entry Word: hybrid
Function: adjective
Meaning: being offspring produced by parents of different races, breeds, species, or genera <a hybrid rose called “American Beauty” was actually first developed in France> — see mixed 1
hybrids between two genera have been noted, most of these latter result from human intervention.

Hey guys I just had a quick question about my White Dwarf. In the last 2 weeks or so I have been slowly losing my fan leaves from the bottom up. They start to turn yellow and die. I am currently on day 42 and well into flowering so is this normal? I just tested my water Ph and it was a 7.0 . I give feedings of Fox Farm Big Bloom and some Molasses with every feeding. starting around week 3.

I will include pics of the plant that will hopefully give you a better idea of maybe what's wrong with my baby. I know the pics arent the best but please bear with me.
