Auto berry grow thread. 2nd grow. 1st in a grow tent!!!

Hi all. Finally got xmas and new year out the way....The plant above is 3 weeks old on Thursday and no real growth to speak of, but the roots are showing and starting to go into the resevoir. I forgot to take pics of this and just lowered the light and really cant be arsed to move it to take a pic. As last week I moved the light down, it dropped and I smashed the bulb (£45). Have been giving the little one 8.5ml of nytrozyme, and just flushed the res about an hour ago. Put in 30ml of ionic growth nutes which is about 1/4 strength. If I look closely the branches are already red/brown. So maybe I could make a nute adjustment. But as always, less is more! Will keep it at 30ml for the next two days and see how it looks. May add another 30ml on friday. Around this time on my last grow, I believe the plant took off once the roots hit the resevoir. So hopefully watch this space....

i think its the big rez on the flo gro which slows down growth in the beginning. your other one grew similar to this. but it looks good. what about 4-5 nodes?
hows the smoke from the last auto berry? any difference in the soil and flow gro from last time?

Your right Gumball, theres not much growth up top as the roots are busy throught the pebbles and then throught the holes at the bottom of the pot. once throught the hole and into the res im sure thats when things start getting interesting. what do you mean 4-5nodes? it no way that big yet!!
The smoke from the auto berry, so im told is very, very good. the window sill grow you may remember was to be honest, shit. I remember I took it round a mates house and he basically said it smells better than it smokes. Then my soil auto berry that i grew next to the hydro was next to sample which was very good, just not a lot of it. I think i got less than an oz. The hydro auto was last, and as you see in the pics, it was fucking huge. got 17oz wet/4.25oz dry weight, and to be honest i dried it too quickly, but by all accounts my mj is simply getting better and better. My mate who sampled it, had some other mj that he got from his mate who grows under hps, and when I checked mine and this other bag of mj, ill be honest the buds did look different and size wise it felt heavier, so the other was more dense, but my mate said he didnt prefer one or the other, they both were different in there own ways so he alternates between the two. In that case I will call it a success!!! I will ask him what te other strain was, and confirm for sure if it was hps grown, and other details i can think of.
I have an airstone in my res, from my local marine shop for about £15. Cant hear it at all, and the pump itself which comes on for 15 mins every 3 hours ish is very quiet just alittle squeaking as athe water comes out one of the holes (sounds like a bloody mouse it does). To be honest when you go in the room i swear the only thing you hear is the cheap £6 b & q fan!!! lmao Until you switch on the carbon filter and fan........ I bought it and fitted it few days before i chopped it. My place stank, but i did use it a bit before chopping and my god did it work. but very noisy. Will look into that more when this plant starts to bud. Want to see if i can stick the filter/fan on a timer so its not on constantly but, keeps the nasty niffs away. Will let you know my findings

The roots are now in the res. Will it start to flourish now? If previous experience is anything to go by, should find out in about a week....I didnt know that gumball about the smell when the lights are out. thanks for the advice. here are a couple of pics of my air stone, it was £15.99 from a marine store, and is very quiet.
Also why the questions gumball, are you thinking of going hydro, or are already growing in hydro and bouncing off a few ideas etc? If you are, you definately have to keep me informed!!!

Yeah, I think growth will really start to take off now!
I am tossing the hydro idea around, have been a few months. But I am thinking of setting up a non_recirculating hempy drip system. I may re-circulate, but I know with my micro scale my rez temps will be a problem inside the grow area. So I plan to place the rez outside the cab, and pump it into drippers for each plant. Then all I will need to recirculate is a small catch tray in the cab and an overflow valve. I am concerned with noise because all of this is beside and under my bed (sound like a teenager growing, huh!) So I don't want the misses pissed at it being to loud. Makes for a lot of legwork up front, but a better over all product in the end. Thanks for the pics and the time

Just had a look at earlier pages on this grow thread for comparison to the two plants. I am now on week three of growing. On my 1st grow you can see on page 8 of this thread the size of the plant and that size is on week three. My latest posted pics show after the same 3 week period the plant is ony 2 inches high. Have I done something wrong in this grow or is it just like my soil grow before, its just the luck of the seed whether you get a stunted plant or a monster. Whatever the answer is plan b will be in full swing once this is harvested.

Just realised why the auto is so stunted! Basically I put the seedling in the flo grow, and instead of putting in nutes a little at a time like before, i think i added 5 ml first to the 17 litres then added more as the days/weeks went on. I basically added nutes so the ppm was nearly 900. Not to worry though, lesson well and truely learned!!!
Yes basically do what I done 1st time around and that is to gradually add the nutes. Make the ppm around the 450 mark for the 1st week, then 600 for the 2nd week. I was well and truely trying to make the plant run before it even learnt to walk. I have now pulled the plant out of the flo grow and placed in a little plant pot. Done it on friday and already it has grown. Although to be honest I think I may of been lucky with the 1st seed and the monster that eventually emerged. If this latest plant had of been grown properly like the 1st one than I thhink the plant may of been the same size as my soil one.
I've also had a look at the website I bought it from, and it says on 1 page under that from seed to harvest it is ready in 45 days. Then another page it says its ready in 65-70 days. So i think it depends what the seed is like from the start. The soil plant from last time and this plant now is obviously a 45 day one. Will take a pic of plant in its new (final) place of growth. But will maybe look at growing a normal feminised plant in the flo grow now. Cannot waste time with preparing the pebbles, the nutes, water ph and ppm, all this for a 4 inch tall plant when you have much better chance of results with a feminised strain from the start. Watch this space folks!!!!!

What's up man, just saw your auto berry, and wanted to let you know that hydro is not the reason your plant got that big. I know this because I have grown Auto Berry's this big in soil. I use Fox Farm Ocean Forest, and I actually have 2 Auto Berry's going right now. One is 30"+, and the other is about 28", along with a auto AK-47 that is 27' tall. Check it out....
