To be honest Gumball, I will probably just leave the soil plant as it is. Its not that far away from the bulb, its just probably a bit too far than it should be. I have checked and it seems to be growing again now. Did have a sneaky look last night before bed. Hydro is now 14" tall, which is what it should be, but its still growing. Soil plant is 10". Will update later when lights come back on, and I can do ph/ppm check etc etc.

Topped up the res last night with 6 litres of water. PPM was 360, so this time round I added 28ml of Ionic Bloom and 4ml of Ionic Boost. PPM went up to 850 so will see how that goes as that is quite a leap as last time PPM was around 500. The branches have no red on them now, except for the ones at the very top, but as the plants looking amazing I'm not to worried.
In the pics you can clearly see the difference between the two. Although the soil plants much smaller, its buds are more formed and look better(Sorry for the lack of bud pics but my camera is shit). Hopefully the hydros buds will start to form more and catch up, unless I haven't been givin her enough nutes? A couple of the pistils on the plants are starting to brown so hopefully it won't be too long to wait. Which is why I really hope the hydro buds start getting bigger.

My thoughts? Well...... at the end of the grow, once harvested I will be doing a report on what I thought between the two. But so far, the hydro is bigger but the buds are very small. The soil plants about 10.5"-11" but the buds are perfectly formed, the pistils are long, white and thick. The hydro is massive (20" high by 19" wide), and I mean 3 times the size. But the buds are very tiny in comparison. Wouldn't surprise me if I yield more off the soil plant if i'm honest. There is a but however, earlier in this thread you may remember me saying about the soil plant taking off in the early stages, the hydro languishing behind, then practically overnight the hydro overtaking it? Well I'm hoping the same will happen with the buds. If hydro does grow in this way, ie nothing really happens then bang it goes absolutely mental then the buds will be impressive. But as this is my 1st grow, I will just have to wait and see. Everyone must be bored in this grow of me always saying gotta wait, wish me luck, don't know what to expect etc etc but truthfully I really am enjoying this grow and would like to grow more at once on my next grow. 1st of all though I need to fully experience the hydro set-up and see what happens from seed to harvest. I'm sure the buds will be very impressive in the end, and as always good or bad, I will post it all on here... TTFN

Yeah, I think the explosion of growth says it all. If it vegs a plant like that, just imagine how it will bud...

I understand the don't count your chickens before they hatch moto, but you sure do have some pretty eggs there :bigjoint:

Cheers Gumball for the kind words, its just as its an auto strain, I just hope the plant produces the buds soon and doesn't finish in the short time I got with smaller buds. Whatever happens I can't wait for the end result...

Hi all. A quick note, no pics due to lost camera. Have been poorly, had car stolen, been busy with work and finally got on here tonight.
The soil plant is nowhere now, measuring 12 inches. The hydro is a whopping 26 inches + and about 21 inches + wide. Harvested my Northern lights and got a measly 15 grams off her if that!!! I'm not complaining or anything it only took just over 9 months to grow!!!!!! lol

Yes that right folks thieves are C*nts!!!! At least the police are looking for it as I had some info to provide them. Any way here is the update.....

The soil plant is 12" high still and as its so humid in there I swear I haven't watered it for about 10-14 days but its still looking good. Just gave it a splash of water as I thought it has been too long without a watering. The hydro is producing some lovely colas and when i burnt the top cola earlier in the thread the next two branches down the main stem took over. Now its an impressive 28" high (apparently they should grow to about 11"-14", so about the size of the soil one I got) by 35" wide. Maybe I got lucky with this seed, as I can't see hydro growing plants this well compared with soil. 'm not joking the plant is HUUUGGGGEEEEE. Just put more water in the rez. About 9 litres as it was very low adjusted the ph to 6.0 ish and got ppm to 1000.
Sorry about the pics but my camera is crap so can't get no close up pics of the buds. My next grow i was going to split the flo grow with a metal divider and grow two auto berrys. Now I'm now sure with how this one has grown, as there would be major problems if they grew to this size again, or if they were stunted the yield would be crap. Now I have to think of a new plan B. Still fancy a 20 pot Wilma, but have been advised to get a few more grows under my belt 1st.

Happy growing all......

WOW, nice. That hydro grows some massive plants cuz, the 2 in the flow may not be a good idea after all...

It's cool when they take off. Plan B would be a good idea unless you flowered 2 clones pretty quickly after getting roots. That requires a mother too & no AF's. Looking good, but never doubt the Soil my friend.:-P

ahh, auto flower. yes of course. I was originally gonna do a mother plant in the grow tent then having another grow tent and doing sog in that. but as i am so inexperience I will be doing a few more grows 1st.

Just flushed the resevoir, cleaned ot the deposits out the bottom and now its sitting in nute free, ph6 water. Is has been 8 weeks from when the seed was planted (5th October). It should be between 60-70 days from seed to harvest, which means it should be ready between sat 4th Dec and Tues 14th Dec. As I have just flushed out the res should I now just leave leave plain water in there, or should still add the nutes? Again apologies for my camera, I have tried to get some clearer pics of the buds. Comparing the buds on my hydro plant to my now chopped Northern Lights, the top colas seem much, much heavier and dense. So am hoping a good yield. Just need to know if I should leave the nutes out for the last two weeks?
Thanks for looking and happy growing

Yes, you should leave the nutes out to flush. They should be fine on plain water for the next week or 2

Hi all, back on the 12th Nov, I flushed the res out and put in only plain ph water. As you can see from the pics some leaves are not looking so good and there are quite a few white pistils still. So I have just added 20ml of Ionic Boost and 4ml of Ionic Bloom. Just to keep the old girl going, or is this meant to happen towrards the end of the plants cycle, if so I may of just cocked it up!!!! Also chopped down the soil plant today, all 11.5 inches of it. Its now in the drying box, and switched it on about 10 mins ago and will switch it off tomorrow about 8am. I got 19.5 grams off her. So the hydro one will yield loads more, cant wait till I post you all the results. Remember earlier in the thread when I forgot to switch on the fan and I burnt the top cola!!! Well, as the plant is now so top heavy (now made more stable with string) it leant over and burnt one of the two colas that was under the main cola. (Hope that makes sense) Wasn't that bad just a bit crispy, but it looks still salvagable. Would show a pic but my camera is truly crap. Will have a go later on and try and post one.

hey J

what you are seeing is usual for IONIC range the bloom nute has very little N added to that the extra boost doesnt make the plants look too good, remember my POG how she ended up with pink leaves and stems , thats why ive changed to CANNA also got some plant magic free samples to try from my hydro shop.
