SL274167.jpgSL274168.jpgSL274169.jpg £95 for the fan, filter and ducting, then another £20 for the chains and carbine brackets and jub clips Shame its so bloody LOUD!!!

Hi all, what more can I say about the hydro auto berry. Well IT STINKS!!!!!! Got myself a carbon filter and 100 fan. Now when plugged in its very loud.... It seems I can't win. Either choke on the smell 24/7 or be kept awake. Do carbon filters have to be on constantly to work, or is it possible that if you put it on a timer for 15 mins every hour from 6am to 10pm it will still work good enough?

I'll see how the 15 mins per hour goes 1st. Will not have it come on between 10pm and 6am. If that not good enough gumball I will then have to increase timings.

Never mind how the timings on the filter and fan go, the auto berry is no more!! I have just this minute chopped it, well a couple of hours ago to be more precise. I yielded 500g which if I'm right is 17 odd oz. My drying box that I made is no where big enough. So I have piled some into the box and will move it around every now and then. And the rest is in my propogator with a fan blowing on it. Never have I seen so much Mary Jane, its awesome. If anyone has any questions then please ask away, and if I think of anything else to add then I will update the thread. Happy growing to all!!!!

Jayme can you get me a real close up shot of that brown area in pics 2 and 3 where it looks completely different to the rest of the buds.

This looks a little like bud rot.

Please get me a close up shot so that i can confirm for you!

Ah yes the brown area. That was when I checked the water ppm and ph one day and when I closed the tent back up I forgot to switch the fan back on. The cola touched the light and burnt. All is ok it seems but here are some pics. The camera really is shite, and the close ups I got, you really can't see much but here they are anyway.

If it looks fuzzy inside and mushy then its bud rot. I would open up the bud just to be sure.

If its grey or mushy brown then cut out the infected area.

remember 500 grams is wet weight. you will be lucky to get 25% dry, which is 125 grams or 4 ounces. the slower you can dry it the better, so you may want to cycle the fan on and off every now and again to slow the dry process a little. looks good though, very nicely done

Cheers gumball. What would you or anyone else recommend the drying cycle should be. Remember I am drying two different ways. An oscillating fan blowing over a propogator. And I will be manually turnng the branches over so they get a good airing and no stale patches of air. The other my old drying box, which to be honest is a bit overloaded. So will probably give them a move around aswell. Was thinking 6 hours a day. Or should I do it gradually. Like 10 minutes every 3-4 hours for a couple of days, then maybe 30 mins every 3 hours then 15 mins per hour for the last couple of days. Anyone got a damn good method out there?

Do maybe 5 minutes an hour or something close. To that, and keep. Rotating them as you already said. Turn the fan on low. What's a propogator?

2nd to last update folks. I have harvested and dried the buds, and wet I got 17oz. I guessed that taking into account 1oz for branches and stems I would be left with 16oz. 75% off of that I would lose in the drying process equals around 4oz. I have just weighed in at 120g (4.2oz). Am I happy? Yes very, as this should keep the mrs happy in home grown for a while yet.

That's is great work jayme!! Well if you can pull that from one plant out of the flow gro, there may not be a need to try and put in a separator and run multiple plants...

Your right gumball. The next grow was going to be using the flo grow with a separator fitted someway. But that is now not gonna happen as the yield I got was huge considering it was only meant to be 12-14 inches high. I think it was 28" high x 35" at its widest, maybe bigger! May do another Auto Berry, just to see it wasn't a fluke or that it was not a modified or freaky seed. Would any one want to see or be intereted in another thread with the same strain again. I will probably start again tomorrow, just got to wash those bloody pebbles.....

TTFN all and good luck.

SL274218.jpgSL274219.jpgNothing really to see here. But hopefully there will be more to report in the next day or so

Decided to do another grow with the same auto berry strain as before and grown in the flo grow in exactly the same way. The reason why I would do this? The website I bought the seeds off said the plant should get to 12"-14" high and produce about an 1/2 - 1 oz of dried mj. Well as you know my one grew to 28" high by 35" odd wide. I want to do another grow just to see, if I can get the same size plant as before. As the plant should be 12 - 14" I can't see how hydro can get a plant nearly 3 times bigger! So I am showing this other grow to you all to see what happens. If I can get the same size plant then it proves hydro is quite simply an awesome way to grow. If I don't get the same size then there must be other factors involved, eg was the seed I used different in some way and accidently sent to me in the pack I received. I just hope its the 1st one and that hydro is quite simply the way to grow. We will soon find out. I planted the seed last time on the 5th October, I then harvested on the 15th Dec. So that was 10 weeks from seed to harvest, and was told that the smoke was very good. Compared to my windowsill grow and the smoke you got off the 11.5" auto berry that I grew in soil, my mj has simply got better and better with the 4oz I got off my hydro the smoke was very good.

I germinated the seed and within 24 hour (just like last time) the seed cracked and is now in a soil grow cube in the tent under the 55w sunmate flouro. Same as before....
