Think i'll just go with this cheap arsed Potting Mix I have here.. it's got soil wetters and what not... I'm not too fussed, last outdoor grow I did I through some seeds out my laundry window and they sprouted (about 30 seedlings). Did nothing for them, didn't even water them and harvested some really nice smoke from them. Best thing was only the stronger plants grew up above the rest and once they were harvested I let the smaller plants grow up and bud again. It was kinda cool just letting nature take it's course.

Hey guys... It's been a good 10 years since I did an outdoor grow but I was thinking of putting one of my auto's outside. Just wondering being an auto and having only a limited life should I wait till the weather gets better and maybe plant at the start of November or just do it whenever? Also, im a hydro man and all my knowledge is Hyro, so just wondering should I just use some shitty Safeway $5 potting mix and feed with hydro nutes or get something decent?
Yes you should wait otherwise you wont even get half the plant that the seed could have possibly produced...

So conflicting info here, bit late haha already got the seeds germinating. I'm not fussed though ive never done an auto so would be cool just seeing something flower before it normally would.

Which strain of Auto are you growing..?

I'm basing my advice on my experience last year in Tasmania... best of luck tho... the weather is most likely different up your way than down here, but it is the amount of daylight hours that determine your Autos growth...

I'm gonna do white widow and New York City, both auto's. I am in Vic so probably get more hours of daylight but where I live i gets colder than Tassy most of the time (according to the weather forecast anyway) although today is 13 and tomorrow is gonna be 19 so it is warming up. Stupid thing with my back yard though, which works out good and bad, is that my whole perimeter is thickly covered with bushes for privacy. So really i only get full sun between say 10am and 3pm.

Hmm....... Now this is why I love Hydro and pretty much want nothing to do with dirt/soil/coco or any of that organic shit.........................................

JUST FOUND SOME FUNGUS GNATS IN MY SEED RAISING MIX I BOUGHT TODAY..... God dammit.

if u chuck about in inch or even 2 inches or stones/pebbles ontop of your pot it will kill off the gnats life cycle so u should be gnat free in 2-3 weeks +it helps with water retiontion also :)

He man... I'm seriously thinking about growing Blueberry in the future, I'm doing some Papaya at present (just started) and then doing Bubblegum but after that it's gonna be Blueberry, however I am finding getting info difficult so I might end up doing Arjans Strawberry Haze instead.

As for it being to early for outdoors, I am really not fussed as they were free seeds and I am really only interested in my hydro setup. The outdoor ones will just be for the fuck of using up the freebies. Not only do I live in Vic but I live in Victoria's coldest non alpine town. It's freeezing here..

And as for the pebbles, I always top my hydro pots with clay balls for this reason... my grows have been 100% bug free for around 6 years now. I am very big of filtered air going in, filtered are going out and a 100% air/light tight room. On top of that i get he missus to spray me with fly spray upon entering my rooms... I am very nutty when it comes to keeping bugs out, only coz it's easy to do.

yea even clay balls "hydroton balls" would work to kill off there life cycle.what happens if the larve start in the soil and eventuallu they need to reach to surface so but doing that your cutting them off.

yeah it's one of the measures i've taken to keep them at bay and havent had a problem since about 2003. Had the buggers kill a crop on me back then.
