I'm sure Haze will disagree with me, but each to their own. If you are happy with your results with dry ice, then great. I will give it a go when the time comes. But I don't think I would be throwing my trim from say a querkle cross or something of high quality around with some dry ice. The downside that I see with dry ice hash is that it isn't graded and contains impurities. It does however make a smokeable product basically instantaneous with no fucking around.....with ice water extract you get graded isolated mature trichome heads, but have to spend more money on equipment, take longer to extract AND even longer before you can smoke it...

each has it's positives and negatives...personally I prefer the ice water extract (and that is just on paper, i.e. I haven't actually done dry ice before, but will give it a go).

IMO, that is incorrect, both bubble and dry ice go through a bag, either way, water or ice, still get contaminants, i can also get different grades with dry ice, i just do as many runs with as many different bags i have and theres my different grades. You also suggest that dry ice damages the trich's, lol, far from it, the dry ice method basically cools everything to the point it becomes a solid ( including the trichs ), now, if you gently shake it, the trichs fall through your bags screen undamagedas they are solid and hard, the trim is also a solid so it doesnt break down and go through the screen as its to big, this is the purest way to remove the trichs, with the bubble method, you aggitate the water and trim, sending reverberation into the water and trim, once that trim is wet, it starts breaking down very quickly and becomes slop, your "mature trichome heads" are in there with that shit getting churned around, fuck that.
I personally have done both, IMO, before advising others, you should try a dry ice run, then base your opinion/advice from that, dont take it the wrong way Ome, love ya man, i just hate to see flowa waste all that trim.

Flowa, moist or dry, irrelevant, just be aware, when its dry trim, MUST be gentle ! If you shake to hard, once the trim starts to go hard/freeze, the dry ice just mashes it into a dust, so just shake slow and gentle, side to side, not up and down, keep moving along so you can see the color, once you see the slightest change in color you kow the trim is getting smashed and stop, then scrape it up and enjoy !!!!

thanx haze, i'll try to be patient :) got over 1 lb of dry trim now, how much should that make? i'm after a few good chunks to store away. i think i'll go with the metal spoon with the cut outs with the water method, and i'll head down to port adelaide to get some dry ice for that method also, im always up for tryin most methods, as long as they seem logical enough ;) got everything else i need, i can't wait! got soo many things going on right now, so much erb in the cupboard, and i got mate ages away cryin cause his town is dry as a bone, i need to make a trip, cant have a mate without some smoke, knowing how he must feel in his boring shithouse town

There are several ways to skin a cat bro...I will give dry ice a go...however, from everything I have seen and heard (and from my experience with commercial hash and bubble hash), ice water extract seems the best way for me.

I don't think I have advised anyone NOT to do dry ice...rather do both, get your own feel for both processes and then continue with the one that works best for you. Obviously you are getting good results from dry ice.

I may have to clarify myself as well. I am comparing an 8 bag 5 gal ice water extract system with the single 220 micron dry ice extraction process. I would prefer the ice water extract to the dry ice if that is what we are comparing.

But, if I were to take the 220 micron dry ice extract and then graded it over some dry sift screens....well...that is a VERY different story.



Throw some dry ice and trim in that.....smoke a bong....come back and things are very peachy :)

I like dry sift for smoking with some bud, bur if you want to get ripped all you need is a small pinch of some killer 75u bubble to knock your ass out.

also, fresh trim frozen is best for bubble.

aaahhhh yes, i have seen the pollen extracion machine on youtube, he gets nice results with that! for big yield anyway, i will be doin both ways dont worry bout that, and im very fussy in the way i do things, so i will have a good comparison.

Hey lads, been a while, I'm a busy mofo! Mrs Miyagi is on light and easy, so they send us a foam box full of dry ice every week. I haven't tried D.I.E. yet but don't have an excuse not to now. I like the quick and easy option, fucken love good bubble but when you have a fuckload of trim it takes all bloody day so if D.I.E. produces something worthwhile that's all I ask!

GO THE AUSSIE SUN!!!! still a bit of sun left ;) and i'll take full advantage of it!! just put 1 more clone out the back, pulled my seedling, was a hermie, look at this resin on these 2 dark clones!!! got the marigold there to ward off white flies.

glad someone is having some luck looks like my whole grow has turned to shit.

those look awesome flowie.

my only saving grace is that the sun maiden is out of control good. she is so sexy. nice white healthy roots. and she has shown sex and is definitely a female. awesome branching. i will stick a pic of her up at some stage tonight. dutch delight is going great guns aswell also sexed and female, only i am uncertain as to whether or not the rot has jumped into the dutch delight bucket from the other grow during water changes as the roots are a bit brown on her. no slime no smell and no foam but just a bit brown. maybe just stained from the flora nova but im not sure.

im going to try 1 last ditch effort to save the others. im going to sterilize everything again tonight im going to chop any affected roots then im pulling down the whole recirc system and switching them to individual buckets running a straight h2o2 and water mix. see how we go.

Fiwh get ya self some 1NAA it will eat the dead roots and put new ones on dramaticlly and they will all go pearly white

And if they arent too bad it will repair them and send them into overdrive and repair them. You use it and you will be root bound in a 50l pot in a week

Its a synthetic hormone . .. Ill ring my guy in the morning and find out where he gets it in its own. i know u can get it in nutriboost , it has it in it aswell as B1,B2, B12,A,D,E,K vitamins aswell

my one saving grace.... sun maiden. she is very short with mass branching. she hasnt been topped or anything yet all the branches are growing outwards and upwards very quickly, they will all soon be competing with the main top
