I know its not really relevant to the president but people like to ask this question every 4 years and they like to make us think its relevant. I know we had this thread during the summer already but I don't think it had a poll.

So are you better off than you were 4 years ago? Please be honest.

Personally I am doing roughly 10 times better as far as financially. I know a lot of people aren't in the same boat but its really just my individual circumstance( I had a steady government contracted job but I lost it in 2010 due to loss of contract and changed careers completely). I just thought it might be fun to have a poll.

Much worse, for me. But it depends on the age group and motivation. My wife lost her job at Washington Mutual as they were first to be driven to in-solvency by bad loans.

So, can she get a job? I guess. But, no motivation.

Most everyone that survived is hiring now
All true. But, certain facts are in evidence.

-US is not producing college level entry jobs at the rate of graduation
-The population growth is accelerating, not a steady climb, not enough job creation to cover the 16 year olds to begin a work experience
-This Admin wants Union, preferable Govt Union jobs, the latter being a drain on wealth creation and as such is a dead end for growth
-Non-govt Union jobs are held hostage to the economy
-With economy, bad decisions as we have seen, lead to no growth and less Union jobs for the blue collars.

So, even the supporters, the only ones that can possible give a 2ond term, are getting screwed. Govt Heath Care will screw us all. Free health care means, it is for shit heath care. Everyone knows that, or should. No motivation in social medicine. Just tax at every level.

not everyone. I haven't had the feeling of job security since obummer took office to tell you the truth, the day after he was elected to office we got a company memo stating there would be no xmas bonus that year due to they didn't know what their tax obligation would be. of course I and everyone else saw this as a protest that obummer got elected. for me this time there is no one to vote for so they can just all go fuck themselves. I haven't worked a 40 hour week for as long as I can remember, 5-6 years ago now that was a different story , the shop I work in that employed 8 people full time back then now has half that number doing an average of 20 hours per week or so. NO I am not doing better than I was 4 years ago and my job is in the construction field. if there isn't building going on that's an indicator not much else is going on.Wage has been reduced, benefits reduced, health insurance continues to rise. wtf makes any of you think it's any better or will stay that way is beyond me.

Hell yes. I had unemployment and cobra insurance (thank you O'Bama) with a discount on the premiums (thank you O'Bama) until I found a great job (thank you O'Bama) and now I have AFFORDABLE health insurance even with pre-existing conditions (thank you O'Bama).

Damn straight I'm doing better than 4 years ago.

I have about 2 1/2 times the income I had 4 years ago.

But that is due to me quitting my job and starting my own businesses that the president tells me I did not build.

the president said you didn't build the infrastructure surrounding your business.

Way better, I just finished up my degree in geo sciences / environmental science and I got a job with a solar panel company. I just hope this whole "green" phase doesnt flop anytime soon.

Neither the president nor the federal government built those roads and infrastructure either but he seems to want to take all the credit for it.

You should be looking to get a position as a lobbyist... Then whether green energy lives or dies you still get a piece of the pie :P
