Anyone else watching the Kyle Rittenhouse trial?

While I think Rittenhouse is guilty as all hell, I thought going into this that Rittenhouse would not be found guilty of anything serious. What makes me reconsider is the defense is moving for a mistrial. If the defense was going so well, why would they do that?
"The defense asked for a mistrial with prejudice, meaning that if one is granted, Rittenhouse cannot be retried."

I believe they asked for this because of what the Prosecutor brought up after the judge already told them that the evidence was not allowed

just an easier way for the defense to end the trial…

Prosecution didn't get there though. They were building up to something that was maybe going to sound negative about kyle's right to remain silent, but the judge stopped it before it was clear where it was going, imo. Then they wanted to show the video of him saying he wished he could shoot looters two weeks before the shooting and also wanted to show him wearing his "free as fuck" shirt while throwing up the white power sign, but the judge didn't allow any of that.

As far as the impact to the jury, there was no cause for a mistrial, imo, let alone a mistrial with prejudice. The really damaging stuff wasn't shown and the gray area questions weren't clear enough where it was going. I'm wondering if they were getting feedback during the break about kyle's breakdown performance and the feedback wasn't good, because the case sure seemed like it was going better for them before he took the stand.

Your first paragraph is wrong. This isn't 1929.

Can't say I read the rest.
If you think 1929 was the last time ...I respectfully disagree (I think there are plenty of 'searchable' instances during the Cold War, at least).
Though, I'm ready to be shown there was nothing going on after 1929. I'd like to know where that fact came from?

On a side note:
thanks to ongoing investigations, we will (hopefully) soon know about more recent Cold War (mk2) games being played.

Self defense is NOT murder
I walk into an unknown area with a MACHINE GUN. I walk into a crazy ass crowd with pissed off people with a MACHINE GUN. I purposely enrage a pedo nutjob into chasing me so I can then shoot him while defending myself.

I did not only shoot once, but I pulled the trigger 4 times to do as much damage as possible. I couldn't help myself. I liked it.

I then ran away from murdering a man and other men tried to chase me down. These men wanted justice for a murder they just witnessed. So I shot them so I could continue running away from the murder I just committed. Too bad for them and YAY for me and my MACHINE GUN!!

I run home and put on my robe and wizard hat

it wasn't a machine gun. let's keep things accurate, it's a semi automatic rifle, one round per trigger pull. you can pull the trigger pretty fucking quick, but it doesn't spray out multiple rounds per trigger pull.
there's no need to exaggerate, what he did was horrible enough as it stands
