this is how plants absorb nutrients
http://www.cropnutrition.com/how-vegetable-plant-roots-absorb-nutrients
so once the ions are absorbed, they get used to make enzymes, proteins, sugars, starches, chlorophyll, etc.
why would you want to wash any of that out of your plant?
i quit feeding one week before i plan to harvest, because i think its a waste of nutes, they ought to have at least a week of stored "food" and its always seemed possible to me it might slightly improve taste if the plant is using up some of its stored starches.
i don't flush, because you can't get something out of a plant thats not in it to begin with. they don't absorb and store nutrients, they absorb and store ions from those nutrients, and the stuff most people think they're getting rid of is already being washed out of the bottom of the pot every time you water

Yes, and it's still starving or "flushing" for those who are watering liberally..

To offer that because the plant doesn't hold onto the food within itself in the same form found in the bottle as being reason enough NOT to starve is missing the point.

Look all most of us are saying is... You don't have bloom nutrients stored in the leaves and or buds of your plant. It just doesn't work that way. So starving or whatever you want to call it to "use up the stored fertilizer" or to "get the chemicals out of your plant" is just Bullshit.

Guess you don't understand what a symbiotic relationship is and how much more diverse the food web is compared to salt nutrients.
Doesn't matter how much you romanticize it, or how "diverse the food web" is. The same ions are being absorbed... You aren't getting anything special growing organically, you are just arriving at the same 16 nutrients in a different fashion.

But you just go ahead and keep believing you are creating magic there bro.

lol I grow both hydroponics and organics every run, right now I'm growing green crack and gorilla glue in hydro and tangie, white fire og and afternoon delight in organics, maybe you should try before you criticize? seems like you are very narrow minded and think there's only 1 way to do things and honestly ive tried both ways and organic always tastes better.

First part I agree, second part..
No, what we're saying is that the bloom food not being in the leaves, is just that.

What is being claimed is that we are starving the plants of reserve stores of energy units however you want to define whatever that is, as a valid method of finishing.

I believe you have a valid opinion, but that's all it is. Period.

I've NEVER been able to tell the difference between organic and non organic.

And my Opinion is as valid as yours.

I assume you have seen the Penn and Teller taste test video.

That's sad, sounds like you never smoked good quality buds, :( .

Nope , don't need a video to tell me what I already know. I have run clones of the same plant in organic and in my waterfarm and the organic always tastes better but yields less, the hydro always big huge plant but seems to have less terps.

i will admit, i do not have a refined palate, i can tell the difference between good weed and crap weed, but i'm not a connoisseur that can identify strains coming froma certain area, harvested at a certain time.
maybe it does make a difference in the taste, in the aroma, even in potency, but i've never been able to detect it.
makes me a cheap date 8)

Yeah I have a really good palate, but you get that when you go to 2 cannabis cups, live in Colorado and held a med card for 4 years, grown top quality and bunk quality buds so yea I can taste the difference.

Like I said, just your opinion.

You have absolutely nothing to back up your statements except.

"I think they taste better"

Get that Bullshit out of here dude.. Lol.
And you have even less than I do to back up your claims your a new grower that still pours premixed chemicals on their plants , you don't even understand the science behind it...or have any experience or evidence to backup your claims.
