Abortion, if you object does that mean you want to control women's uteri

i never agreed with you.

if the mother chased the fetus down a dark alley and shot it (in "self defense", of course), i'm sure you would finally defend the mother as a rational human who doesn't need your morality imposed upon her.

Only 26% of women in 2005-2009 thought abortion should be legal under any circumstance, i.e. your position. The majority of women (and men) embrace my view on abortion. Why are you claiming to be smarter than the majority of women about their reproductive rights?

It's a difficult situation kept difficult by the absence of a universally-recognizable line of demarcation. One can forfeit practicality in the quest for moral simplicity, as adherents of many religions do on this topic. The Catholics e.g. have gone so far as to declare any birth control to be immoral. However imo simplicity doesn't always equate with goodness. Something about babies and bathwater. cn

I agree. The "simplicity" we have now has gone to the opposite end of the spectrum from Catholics e.g. Something about babies and bathwater, indeed.

It's a constitutional argument, as with drugs, that our government hasn't recognized.

Your body, do what you want with it, including suicide or assisted suicide. The governments authority should stop on the outside of your skin.

What is liberating about murdering infants, and who exactly is it that is liberated?

because women will just go on baby killing sprees unless you get to play morality police.

women are known for being ruthless, soulless baby killers. we need a gaylord to strip them of their autonomy and liberty therefore.

Wow

That was a pretty powerful article, thanks for posting that. I honestly don't know how I feel without digesting this for awhile.

Teenager boxes would be a huge hit in the states.

I am aware of a law that allows people to drop off newborns at the hospital within X hours of delivery. No repercussions no questions asked. In the United States.

I agree with you about suicide and assisted suicide. You won't find the words "abortion", "baby", "infant", or "privacy" in the US constitution.

A majority of women disagree with you on this issue. Odd that.

and desert dumb, you never told me what the punishment would be for women who refuse to yield autonomy of their bodies to your moral authoritarianism after 12 weeks, nor have you told me how the government would go about monitoring every fetus in existence within our borders.

By strict adherence to the "yield autonomy of their bodies" line of thinking, don't all of us yield autonomy of our bodies at a certain point in a society that imposes laws on it's citizens? I can't say to the hottie in front of me in line at the supermarket "Sorry ma'am, you're gonna need to bend over. It's my body and my penis wants to be lodged inside you for a few minutes..." I can't use my body to impose an unwanted "mosh pit" situation in the lobby of my local bank or BMV lobby.
The 'sanctity of the body' shizz only goes so far.

whats better, bringing a child into a world of pverty and welfare or aborting a child to wait till you are ready...personally i would rather see mre moms waiting (even if it means aborting a couple of em) and raising some kind of hope for society rather than "feeling bad" about it and raising a welfare brat...my 2¢
So we should kill anyone living in poverty? I don't think that's what they meant by "the war on poverty".

so, your autonomy extends to other vaginas besides your own?

poor example there. maybe sit the next few rounds out.
