Now that was an excellent, well thought out position. I was wondering though, after you created water, brought light into the world, then created the earth and mankind, what exactly did you do for rest and recuperation on the seventh day?a fetus is not a person, its a growth of cells inside the mother, and therefor a part of the mother. Until that umbilical cord is cut, it should be the mothers right to do whatever she wishes. It is unfortunate that we don't live in a world where every baby can be given a healthy life and upbringing, but we can't. It would be a terrible situation if abortions were made illegal. How would you punish the mothers? Charge them for murder? Give them death penalties? And what of the babies? Who takes care of the millions of babies born to unfit parents? Our foster homes are already over crowded. We can't deal with the current situation, what makes anyone think we can deal with no abortions? Abortion, as ugly as it is, has been a part of civilization since the beginning. The fact of the matter is, it is sometimes better to have no life at all than the alternative life this world can offer.
