A New Proposed Federal Marijuana Law...

How about we just end all of those laws...
What do you mean? WE can end those too. WE start, we end Law and the me-me has nothing to do with it but influence others until it is WE_WE...the majority.

Why is this so difficult? The don't teach the Operation Manual anymore. They preach the Anti-Con.

OK, your proposal is better than mine...but is it practical? That is, is it likely to be passed as law? If so, Cheezy, then I bow to your superiority...

I didn't mean to give cops the right to search a person's "whole house"...I meant that there would probably have to be some provision to allow the state to occasionally verify (if they so choose) that personal growers are in compliance with the law...

You are NEVER going to get a blanket "grow as you please" law...the gov't will never go for that...
But, there is no govt like that. That is your confusion. Are you sure you are an American? Read the Operations Manual. You seem light on the Rule making process.

Marigold is "grow as you please." You simply don't get it. Grape is "grow as you please." I can grow castor beans for crying out loud.

You may have Royalist tendencies. Just make a note of it. No one is superior to you unless YOU put them up there....American.

It is the land of the Free until we forget. Then if we want a Kingly structure then it is war, revolution and a new Constitution.

It can happen if you go along unwittingly.

You can grow and make your own tobacco/alchohol

You cant sell it. not without extensive and costly licensing and regulation.

And if you violate regulations and laws trying to sell it you end up with big fines and jail time

yup. and prohibition for alcohol although still heavily taxed and regulated was for the most part ended, It can be done if its the will of the people. I believe WA was one of the first states to break prohibition, history repeating itself ?

Hmm Khat...While looking at the plant it looks like it could be grown out in the open fairly easy without detection. I am surprised I haven't bumped into this plant before. Wouldn't it be ironic if these popped up all around my blackberry bushes next year?!? Anyone familiar with making infusions with this?

You need to look into it. I'm not sure it is a most pleasant high.

Khat contains a monoamine alkaloid called cathinone, an amphetamine-like stimulant, which is said to cause excitement, loss of appetite and euphoria.
---------
OTH, what's not to like! :)
-----------
The Egyptians used the plant for more than its stimulating effects; they used it for transcending into "apotheosis", with the intent of making the user god-like.[SUP][13]

[/SUP]Khat is so popular in Yemen that its cultivation consumes much of the country's agricultural resources. It is estimated that 40% of the country's water supply goes towards irrigating it,[SUP][18][/SUP] with production increasing by about 10% to 15% every year. It is also estimated that one "daily bag" of khat requires about 500 liters of water to produce.[SUP][19][/SUP] Water consumption is so high that groundwater levels in the Sanaa basin are diminishing;

Bundles of khat, seized by the DEA in July, 2006

When khat leaves dry, the more potent chemical, cathinone, decomposes within 48 hours leaving behind the milder chemical, cathine. Thus, harvesters transport khat by packaging the leaves and stems in plastic bags or wrapping them in banana leaves to preserve their moisture and keep the cathinone potent. It is also common for them to sprinkle the plant with water frequently or use refrigeration during transportation.

The action of cathine and cathinone on the reuptake of epinephrine and norepinephrine has been demonstrated in lab animals, showing that one or both of these chemicals cause the body to recycle these neurotransmitters more slowly, resulting in the wakefulness and insomnia associated with khat use.[SUP][24][/SUP]

---------------------------------

So, I am familar with a lot of these terms from "Breaking Bad," aren't you? The DEA is on this because of the precursors for Methamphetamine.

Well, the gov't has NO ASPIRATIONS of EVER allowing ordinary citizens grow MJ to their heart's content...that's the point you're missing...

Rather, the gov't would only allow MJ to be decriminalized under the umbrella of total gov't regulation and taxation...which may include allowing SMALL personal grows, but nothing large...

Personally, I'm not interested in buying the shit that other people grow...I want to grow my own, and have no intentions of growing enough to sell...

Respectfully sir, I must say that you and other responders to my original post have taken a very libertarian (and "pie in the sky") reaction...it's all or nothing for you...total freedom by God or nothing...

Well...you'll get nothing then...because the gov't will NEVER allow you total freedom to grow as you please...they will always want regulation on their own terms...

My proposal bridged the gap between what we have now (nothing) and what you constitutional purists are holding out for (everything)...the truth is always somewhere in the middle, where my proposal lies...

never say never cause you will ALWAYS be proven wrong eventually. History is repeating itself prohibition is ending ... again
Exactly. This has been known as a medical plant for 5000 years and it has been illegal for less than 100.

It was based in Racism and Racism has moved on. Recreation is not a good reason.

Medication is the GOLD standard. Compassion, says Dr. Sanjay.

You know it is quite legal in some places in this world, right?
Yes I do...but I have a hard time believing that US politicians will go along with that here, any time in the near future...but maybe I'm wrong...I sure HOPE I'm wrong...but I don't think so...

Bullshit! You think you (we) are going to sign some authorization to have our homes searched up to twice a month with the HOPE that at some point that will cease? Your crazy. I'm not signing ANYTHING that makes an illegal search legal. (don't worry, I will refrain from posting in this thread any longer)

If you think that response is lacking "manners", then FUCK YOU!

See, you have the problem of depending on your personal beliefs. That clouds your reasoning.

The Berlin Wall? What were your beliefs about that? None probably. That is my point. This world specifically does not depend upon our beliefs. If fact, Murphy's Law states quite the opposite.

Hey calm down, 2 post.

No one asked you to sign anything. Your reply is so lacking in manners you would dare not be so, face to face.

Therefore you hide.

We can grow our own tobacco (deadly, cancerous tobacco) without someone coming to do random searches of our houses so why should it be any different for marijuana in that respect?
