i am one happy motherfucker.

also, decided what i'm doin' for a/c. i figure i've got about 30-40 days of veg time to play with my a/c options. whether that be take apart the other unit i've got (made by same company) and learn how to re-wire it's thermostat, or take rory's suggestion and purchase a dual hosed a/c (already lookin'). but for now, the a/c comfortably sits inside my tent and works like a charm.

That a.c. will work fine for you for now..and will for good if you want to empty out the resivoir often and stay at home..here we have violent thunderstorms here and there and the power blinks on and off often..I went to my grow after one storm and my a.c. had shut off,I realized then what had happened..luckily the temp only got to 90 that day..
Another tip is to have battery powered timers..they have an internal battery,so if the power goes out,it stays right on time..the mechanical one will throw a schedule off for however long the power was off..

Hope it works out for ya ccc...it should..just vent the hose properly so humidity and heat don't build up..and don't forget the battery op timers..its a must.
So you only cracked two beans..in my experience the papertowel method is not sound..I'm under the assumtion that a plant should not be disturbed at all from its home unless its two weeks old or older..I germ in the same buckes ill harvest in..but,I take clones so its rare I flower the moms out unless I'm chucking those genetics or she got 'too big for her britches' so to speak...lol

well i could have started them off in the rapid rooters straight away but have popped beans before and sometimes put them in upside down thus fucking it all up. i wanted to be sure of success this time so just went with the paper towel method.

you really plant in the same buckets you harvest though? i was under the assumption that i would need to transplant from rapid rooters < half gal pot < 3 gall pot (finish). is this not true?

about poppin only 2 beans. i figured that would be plenty to fill a 4x4 screen. i've seen people filling screens this size with just 1, so 2 should be fine. you recommend i pop the third? still got time.

Well,I don't necessairly harvest..I grow in the same bucket from sprout..I put the seed in and right now have 8 huge mothers(check out the pics in h.s.)..I feel the fragile root tip needs not be disturbed in its youth..my ladies are healthy after a couple years!! Still in the same bucket...once in awhile ill grow a clone big and retire the mom..speaking of clones..are you using r.o. water?..are you trying to clone these seeds you sprouted?

I reccomend popping a bunch and selecting the best and cloning it before flower..BUT,since I know that's not your plan,I would pop all of em,find the brightest in the classroom,and quickly flower the flunks,as you train the 2 for your scrog..worst case,you have a few 'midflower buds' you have to harvest early to save space..make not waste!!

no just using tap water and letting it evaporate.

how could i flower them when i'm vegging my keepers? i only got one tent.

also wanna thank you again for helping me find a proper a/c unit. turns out my a/c doesn't have a safety feature, it just doesn't have the restart ic technology feature. deff will be a nice christmas present..i'm excited.

woke up this morning and saw my taproots had just barely popped out, so i threw them in rapid rooters and dropped some sunshine mix #4 over the top to cover em' up. got em' in the dome now just waiting for them to break the surface.

i'm officially a proud parent:hump:

I was sayin pop all of em,grow em up till you see the two keepers you want, but the rest,keep small and in the corners..flowertime comes,kick those reject bitches out when the time comes to save room..just a thought..nothing wrong with having a little edible material,even if its inferior..or,keep the extra beans for safe keeping in the event of cat
astrophic failure..
Glad the a.c. thing in order for you..I've had such a bad run on a.c.s..I literally have bought 5 in 2 years...ones motherboard fried,another idk what happened,another was one I made the sensor remote,and after the move wouldn't work and the 4th was the window unit I had fashioned..it went kaput also..I think I'm down by about 2200$ on a.c.s!!!

yeah i'm actually going to go the route of keeping the other seeds 'just incase'. i see what you're saying about flowering now, not a bad idea at all. i sure hope i don't end up having your luck with a/c units. i'd love for this unit to last me till flower then hopefully get that new one come christmas time..i'd be set.

also, idk if you can answer this, but how much do you think my power bill will be going up each moth?

fuck! just went to my room and the temp was at 106 degrees! the damn exhaust on my a/c fell out and hot air was blowing in my tent for potentially 2-3 hours...one of my seedlings seems to have emerged but does not look right...what do you guys think i should do?

i was thinking maybe place it in a 1 gallon pot and cover the rapid rooter with maybe a half inch of soil?? or maybe i'm just stressin'...shit this is not a good birthday surprise.
