It was Bernie's job to win enough votes to beat Clinton in the Democratic primary. He lost. By a lot. So Clinton became the Democratic Party's candidate. By Democratic Party's nomination rules, there can be only one Democratic Party candidate for president in the general election.

After he lost, Bernie supported Clinton.

Hillary couldn't convince enough voters to vote for her in a few key states and lost in Electoral College in General election.

These elections aren't like video games where you just re-start a few scenes back when you get killed off.

I just feel compelled to offer an alternative viewpoint when I see the Hillary crowd *still* blaming her loss on everything but her shitty campaign.

the only time i really see clinton brought up anymore is when the trump fans and the barnie slanders crew brings her up

It was up to Hillary to convince Sanders supporters to vote for her. About 12% voted for Trump. Compared to past elections this isn't a huge shift. Yet, it is one of the factors that turned the election.

If the Sanders voter who chose Trump actually supported progressive policies then the failure went both ways. But, the choice was theirs to make. Michigan voters who did that own an extra large share of responsibility for bringing us Trump. They should at least face the facts. Maybe make a better decision the next time. Right now, I'm interested in what "next time" looks like.

One thing I want to see happen is Oregon switch to closed elections in primaries. I want the next Democratic Party candidate to be selected by registered Democrats and not anybody else. It will be one of the issues I raise with local Democratic Party representatives.

the presidency is no longer a position of respect, or deserving of public patriotism.

long ago, when dem's and repub's could enjoy the 4th at the same BBQ and enjoy just being Americans. Citizens, respected the office as Americans

this divide is no longer about being a republic, but which side of a oligarchy government(s) a person is aligned

Trump, is just the bus driver, sure we could change him, but we still have a bus with an isle and two sides just with a different diver. The destinations, are based on the passengers not the driver.


they want you focus: on ideas with zero gravity for the good of the nation. meanwhile every group of government officials is abusing their power to their own means. from your school district to congress.

we are past the point of the people being able to change the current government, armed revolution, nor democratic processes or impeaching a president will bring any amount of changes for the good of the common person/family.


they are chumming the water, once people smell blood they loose sight of everything. the public just focuses on the easy meal of low levity issues, and bits and bites of morality and what is right and wrong, to whom and whom not.

there is only one way for change, and its not pretty for the common person.

I was accused of being responsible for the Trump presidency because I didn't vote for Clinton (I didn't vote for Trump either). I would love to stop explaining the many reasons why I didn't vote for Hillary, but certain people here just can't seem to get over it.

1) Are you ok with corporations donating billions of dollars to our elected leaders in an effort to influence policy to their benefit?

2) Do you feel that Hillary Clinton participated in this, or did she decline corporate donations to her campaign?

Ahhh, could we just hold off on a civil war that would mean the death of millions until it becomes necessary? You see, I have these kids I'm raising and an elderly mother in assisted living and I'd really be depressed if they all just were killed.

Do you really think all avenues of democratic change have been explored and war is the only option left?

war is not an option. nor is voting; the electoral college is the laughing stock of every republic ever.

no, the other option is much worse.....then either of those.
