Hi everyone

OK so today i started to make my cooltube venting system.

For this installation i am using the following things

Aluminium ducting approx 5 metres when completed.
2 x 120mm Apache Black PC fans with a CFM of 57.63 - 97m3/h
4 x Jubilee clips
2 x Ducting brackets which i made myself in work on a laser cutter
DUCT tape

Firstly i made the brackets in work which consisted of a back plate (thermo plastic) and 4 rings of plastic to fit over the hole made in the back plate. You can get the idea if you look close enough at the bracket. I then used Tensile cement to stick them together. This cement works on osmosis where it seeps into the gaps between the rings and forms a bond. I only had to brush it over the desired place where i wanted the join to be.

I then took my cooltube and connected the ducting to it.
I also decided to use some DUCT tape around the plastic brackets to help with the seal from the ducting to the bracket.

Then i used the Jubilee clips to secure the ducting to the bracket and the cooltube and cut off the excess metal as not to catch myself, the plants or the ducting on it.

I have cut the connector off the fans and incase anyone else wants to use these fans there are 4 wires inside the connector BLACK YELLOW GREEN BLUE. The Green and the Blue are useless for what i need them for (These would be control wires for a pc to monitor the fan etc.)
Black to black on my Power adaptor and yellow to the Red on my power adaptor.

You can see in the pic of the ducting, cooltube and bracket that i have placed the fan where it will roughly be positioned as this fan will be fitted onto the opposite side of the door of my closet with the bracket and ducting fitted to the other side with a 120mm hole in the door, this will be the same for both the intake and exhaust with the only difference being the direction of the airflow. IN at the bottom and OUT at the top.

Unfortunately i have not been able to complete the ducting and cooltube today as i underestimated how much ducting i was going to use and only got 3 metres but i have used 2 already just on one side.

When i make the next part i will document as i have done here.

And incase anyone is wondering I AM A GEEK AND I LIKE SAVING MONEY if this installation works which i have no doubts that it will then i will have saved approx £110 by making my own venting system for it.

Enjoy.

HI all

I now have some more ducting to fit to my cooltube. I bought another 3m of ducting to be able to finish it. I have also purchased some CANNA FLUSH as it was recommended to me by DANTHEBULL (cheers bro)

I will update later with the final fix together of my ducting and cooltube. Tomorrow evening i will be fitting everything into my closet and switching it all on to get the little ladies under some serious lumens.

Peace out

Picture update folks

While fitting together my venting to my cooltube i have noticed a crack in the cooltube so i have to exchange it tomorrow. Once i have exchanged it i will be installing this into the room with pics.

OK so here are the pics. Dont forget i gave the seedlings 10days propagation and now they have had 11days of vegging under the 125w CFL. Tomorrow i will be giving them the cooltube with the 600w HPS dual spectrum.

Enjoy

HI Everyone

So its coffee time here at my house and midway through the new cooltube installation.

I have so far Removed 8 out of 10 of my Original PC fans and left 1 on each vent at the top and the bottom as per pics. i will be covering the remaining holes with some 3mm MDF boarding.

I then stenciled around the brackets which i made to have a guide for the hole to cut ready for the cooltube fans.

Once i cut out the holes i then fitted the bracket to the inside of my door. Once screwed on i positioned the fans on the outside of the door and secured them in place with screws.

Then i attached my ducting by tightening the Jubilee clip to my brackets.
When this was complete i began to attach my 12 v power supplies (a seperate one for each fan). I switched on and tested that the fans worked and they seem to be working fine through the ducting good blowing power and good suction.

Then i went downstairs to update my thread and have a well deserved coffee lol. oh and a doobie lol

Enjoy the pics everyone.

lol

The door was only a cheap £28 door so now harm no foul cheap as chips to replace. But i dont plan on replacing until i have finished growing as in finished smoking which aint ever gonna happen lol.

Ive even contemplated when we have kids putting the door on the other side where our bedroom is so that the kids dont have to know lol.

Just waiting on my bro to get here.

Great setup so far, my plants are around the same stage as yours so I will def keep updated. Let me know how the cooltube works as I might have to implement the same system in my room. :blsmoke:

Cheers,

HI AC20

Well it is working fine for now.

The only thing i am now thinking of is running the fan from a cooler intake. maybe attic space just to cool it a little more. Room temp is stable but a little warm at canopy level 29.5C

I will keep you all updated with my findings and any more changes that i make.

Hey guys and gals.

I am after a little advice before i go spending anymore money.

Currently i am not too happy withe venting of my cooltube.

I have a few options which i am considering.

Option 1
Buy a 400w Dual spectrum lamp and leave all the ducting as it is.

Option 2
Remove the exhaust from the door and exhaust up into the attic space.

Option 3
Remove the Intake from the door and intake cooler air from the attic space

Any advice would be helpful as i am not happy with my current temps.

the growroom temps are a stable 27C/80.6F but at canopy level they are 29.6C/85.2F

Which should i do?

Hi All
Well i have had to bite the bullet and i have bought an

RVK 125E2-A1 inline duct fan to mount into my bedroom and duct into the grow room through the cooltube and i am going to vent this into the attic above my closet.

Here are 2 pics of the fan

Hey Everyone

So here is a new update of the little ladies (i hope) they are putting on some decent foliage and the structure is looking good.

I plan on flushing once i get the new fan installed.

For all those that want to know i will be mounting the RVK in the bedroom where my closet is located i will then run ducting from the RVK through the bottom hole on the door into the cooltube and then up and out into the attic.

I will be monitoring the attics ambient temps today before the install and after the install so that i can see the difference and whether i need to vent into something ie stench pipe etc.

Anyway enjoy the pics
