Oh she is going to be a monster alright.....lol

Yeah i would say you have the room to go an extra week or 2 veg, you have seen how close you can get them now, and i dont think it would hurt to see them bigger.....lol Its just the time thing. If you can wait then i would say wait be patient and watch them baby's fly in flower.... Remember we dont work in half's me and you pal....lol

You are right and i know you are.
I probably will give them maybe another 2 or 3 weeks under the hps once it is installed tomorrow. Lets see if i can beat your per plant ratio lol. (doubtful)

I want to allow them to get up to about 12-18 inches before i flip them.

I know that i initially wanted to make this as short as possible and try to develop a few main colas that were massive but i think i will do this when i grow the mother WW plant.

I can wait as long as i need to, i just wanted to see if it was possible and i dont think it will be very good if i do it from seed.

After doing a fair bit of research related to this i am finding that this scenario may only be possible when using a mother plant over 8weeks old and take clones from her.

That being said i will see how they develop under the HPS.

Keep your eyes peeled for tomorrows installation.

HI all

i could do with some advice on my cooltube setup as their is alot of contradictory information out there.

As you can see from the design i plan on mounting the RVK inside my bedroom where the grow closet is located blowing the air through the door in ducting through the cooltube and venting up into my attic.

Should i fit it this way or should i mount the RVK at ceiling level inside the closet and pulling the air from the cooltube via a passive intake in the door.??

Im really unsure about this and could do with all the help i can get before this install.

Hi everyone

OK so here is the start of the attic venting of my cooltube

I stenciled roughly where i wanted the ducting to be in the grow room but unfortunately once in the attic a joist was in the way so i had to re-position this slightly.

I have approx 1.5ft of ducting in the attic attached to one of the brackets that i made and this has been No nailed and screwed to the hole that was made in the grow room but in the attic space. Over the end of the ducting i have placed a disused stocking (a ladies stocking) for protection against any insects etc.

On the grow room side i have no nailed the bracket to the ceiling and used some screws to hold it in place until it all sets.

Tomorrow after all the no nails has set i will be mounting the RVK in my spare bedroom where the growing closet is located and ducting it through the door and connecting it to the cooltube and then to the bracket which i have attached to the ceiling.

Here are 2 pics of the bracket inside the grow room. I didnt want to hang around taking pics inside the attic.

Enjoy

HI All

Ok so toaday i have completed my installation of my cooltube.

Here are the pics.

The plants i think may possibly be dealing with a little nute lock so i am going to flush 2 of them tonight with plain ph6 water i will however only be running 18litres per plant today so can only do 2 of them and i will do the other 2 tomorrow.

As the HPS is now installed today and tomorrow are going to be testing days for it to run.

Hope you all enjoy the pics.

HI all

Here is a proliminary update of testing.

So far after 1 hour of the light cycle my ambient room temp is 24.9C with canopy level being 29.5C

The lamp and cooltube is down to around 12inches from canopy level.
I have left my hand there for over 1 minute and i am not getting burned or uncomfortable so plants should be fine.

Hope you all enjoy the pics.

I have also flushed 2 of the ladies if you look at the medium you can see that the back 2 girls are moist after flushing where as the front 2 have dry spots. They will get flushed tomorrow. I have flushed the 2 at the back today because as you can see the nute burn is getting a bit worse. I will now give them nothing but plain ph6 water with maybe some ALG-A-MIC mixed in as a vitality booster. Once they seem to perk up i will add some SUPER THRIVE then the next time i water after this i will use a low EC of 1.2 to help them get over any stress they have had.

Keep your fingers crossed that this cooltube venting works.

enjoy

Your room and mine are very similar.

I have taken the liberty and made some mods on your drawing. You can maintain better temps if you bring in cool air to the grow room and not just the tube. Happy to see you figured out the intake and exhaust to the same room problem.

Here is what Mine looks like, over and under. I run a 400w HPS about 3" off the canopy.

HI Bonzai.

thanks for the advice.

Temps seem to be fine now.

I have an intake in the door already and am using a 120mm PC fan with CFM of 54 I also have another one mounted up high in the door for an exhaust. The cooltube is a fed from the bedroom with the RVK mounted in the bedroom pulling cooler air straight from the window as i have now ducted it to the window.

I may try this idea on my next grow thanks very much for the idea.. +rep

Update for everyone

ok ambient room temps are now stable 25C. Canopy level seems to holding good at 29C cooltube is within 10inches of the tops of the plants.

All 4 plants have now had a flush of 18litres each. I will be giving them another flush this weekend and then i will pick up the feeding at an EC level of around 1.6 and see how they react to it.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Where i live bringing air from outside (from a window) would fry all my plants. 105* forecasted for this weekend. right now my veg is 79* and flower is 80*.

I will be watching good luck.

just cause I like posting pics:

Love how healthy your plants look bro.

Cooler air from the window here in the uk is not a problem max temp so far this year has been 27C/80.6F thats why i had to buy the cooltube in the first place. I made the noob mistake of setting up my room in the winter so everything was sweet until we had some hot weather lol.
I also run my lights from 6pm right through to 12pm midday on a 18/6 cycle then from 6pm -6am when flowering. So outside temps arent too much of a prob.

I may try out your idea this weekend without the carbon scrubber for now as i just cant afford one yet. if it works i'll rep you some more lol.

Would the bottom intake on the door just need to be passive or should i feed it using my CFM54 fan?

Everything I have done and read is passive intakes. I can not see doing it any other way. I always say "Suck don't blow". Plus i want to control odor so I want air being sucked into the room and want the preasure inside the room lowere than outside the room. Stinky checks in but never checks out.

thinking that i will do a test run by suspending my RVK up high and connect it as you have shown in the diagram

will let you know how i get on

You will be happy. Plus someone can sit in my office looking right at the closet door and not know Cause there is just an intake vent to see.

Here is the hottest that my temps get. Early in the am all ights on and Air off:
