Was just listening to Casper Thomas, author of (translated) "America's Last Chance". Usually I find them annoying, ‘foreign’ journalists/correspondents who talk about US politics as if they know shit while they're repeating a popular 3-day old take from social media or something I read on a cannabis grow site months ago. :bigjoint:This little Bill Gates nerd looking guy grabbed my attention by his lack of eagerness to claim authority. The gist of it is nothing new to people here, what's at stake for the US and thus other democracies in the world. So good luck tomorrow!

I just dropped our ballots off at a drop site. Oregon's Republican candidates are loony toons. Trumpist fascist right wing election deniers to the max. We'll see in a few days if we have one as governor. They would have no chance but for Phill Knight, the CEO and billionaire founder of Nike who is bankrolling a former Democrat to run as an "independent". Johnson has no chance of winning but she's splitting away enough Democratic and Independent votes from the Democratic candidate to give the MAGA Republican candidate a good chance at winning.

On edge

I will never again look at the Nike swoosh the same way.

With districts recently redrawn, I’ve been stripped of the pleasure of voting against McCarthy. The dirty dog is almost certain to be re-elected. Cali might be blue, but ‘Fornia is solid red.

All his hackers and trolls are hiding in the woods or left Russia to avoid conscription, with this guy desperate for warm bodies to throw in the meat grinder, would you show up for work at the IRA? There were lots of military age men working there and they must have been worried about being drafted since they are prime meat.

Uncle Sam is ready, he lost all his talent and Ukraine has taken all the FSB and GRU's attention. When they are fighting for their fucking lives, they won't have a lot of time or resources to fuck with America. Keep them busy in their own backyard fighting a raging fire.

Ex-US cyber chief reacts to Russian oligarch's post about election interference

59,275 views Nov 8, 2022
Yevgeny Prigozhin, a Kremlin-linked oligarch known as "Vladimir Putin's chef," appears to admit to Russian interference in US elections in a Telegram post, saying that Russia has interfered, is interfering and will continue to interfere in the US democratic process. Former senior Homeland Security official Christopher Krebs joins CNN's Jake Tapper to discuss.

We will know more or less by the end of today which way the wind is blowing.

a poll on voter enthusiasm?....
why not a poll on boxers, briefs, or thongs?....
why poll at all? a poll is a very accurate way of finding out what lies the people you're polling will tell you.

i think this reveals the number of independents that the republicans have driven away, who are now voting democratic...
and the number of women, lgbtq people, and veterans who are sick of republicans treating them like shit.
i'm very optimistic about the results, but we'll have to wait a day or two for most of them.
if we can get the house and the senate, it's time to clean fucking house, and start indicting trump insurrection enablers.

40 million Americans have already voted and there is exit polling etc. Large turnout is the wildcard this year, which way will it break? The republicans used to vote by mail, before Trump in 2020, so they could turn out today in numbers, not trusting the mail etc. However, I'm sure republican officials and election workers are trying to get those mail in ballots in this year. Early voting looks good for the democrats, but we will see tonight if there is a trend one way or another. Unlikely voters are showing up this year and mailing in early too.

I wouldn't risk a dime on the outcome, it's a coin toss at this point.

The thing is, if Democrats could win big this election, I think that Biden would be able to step away in 2024, because that would be 4 years of getting a lot of shit done for America, and we would be in a lot safer place (barring Russia/China/Saudi/NorthKorea/Iran don't pull some more stupid shit).

If the Republicans win, it will be a lot of relying on what the Democrats were able to do the last couple years and really nothing else coming out of the federal government to help us out. Trump will use this new power to try to cheat his way back into office (due to Republicans in office fuckery), and that might just force Biden to run again in 2024 because we will need him to.

i'll bet a dollar the republicans lose both house and senate races, by a large enough margin that it makes them irrelevant for the next two years...

One can only hope. It should mean a special independent counsel to investigate republican support for the insurrection and the vote to delay the certification, it looks like another part of the J6 conspiracy to me. Changes to the FCC and media regulation along with an anti-domestic terrorist watch list, with no guns or flying for those on it, let the fuckers take the bus. Ya gotta win by enough to cause change first though. An independent special counsel was specifically designed to deal with what the GOP has become with public hearings and possible prosecutions. In any case it will keep the fuckers busy, under oath and broke with legal expenses right up to 2024. That's how ya win the fight for liberal democracy against a bunch of fucking idiots and greed heads. Clean Mitch's party out for him, courts hear cases if there are any and juries decide guilt or innocence and I believe there is a lot of guilt and slezery among the republicans and they will squeal like pigs when facing prison time. The democrats are not nearly as vulnerable to this as the republicans and those that are deserve what they get.

CNN has called it early it appears, all hope is lost, just stay home and accept America is a fascist nation, inhabited by idiots. The democrats have "lost touch" gas prices are more important than democracy or common sense. The new management is showing itself.

I’ll bet my Canadian dollar! I win big or lose little lol. Honestly Roger I hope your fucking right. This shit has to end one way or the other :(. If they win it will be “democracy at work”, if they lose it will be 2 more years of “it was stolen”. So either way the noise will not stop :(.
