Something else you can do to fight the heat is to grow on a flip schedule, where the majority of the time the lights are on is at night and morning. I'm actually doing this right now. I vegged them from 6pm to noon. Now I'm flowering, from 6pm to 6am. Really helps maintain temps, even on hot days.

Another advantage - when you are living near a forest or in the country side - is that there is more CO2 in the air at night. Plants emit CO2 at night. And when you have your lights on, your plants benefit from it.
In the city it can be the other way around. Cars and traffic exhaust CO2. It is most of the time busier with traffic during day time.

That's cool! I didn't know that. I live in a forested area :weed:

I had actually thought about this since my peak usage time is 3-8pm

It is almost always an advantage to have lights on from 9 pm to 9 am.
- In the summer time you have to cool less because nights almost always are colder.
- In winter you have to use less heating because it is slighty warmer during day time.
- More CO2 in the air. Except if you live where there is a lot of traffic.
- If you have a 9 tot 5 job, you can work in your room after you come home from work, and check on your plants before you go to work. Without the risk of disturbing them.
- Some countries have lower electricity rates during the night.

Yea hopefully I'll be able to afford it next go around. You think a 1k water pump will work?
Generally you will want x10 total water volume turnover/hr this will cover you for as big of plants as you want imo. You can get away with less if you are growing smaller plants but it's a good general rule of thumb. So you may want a bit bigger pump.
Also you will need to account for head pressure.
