1st Grow... Working with what I got!

I myself use rockwool and a simple drip to res system (DYI cheap with great results) but has grown in soil used 600 watts before. Depending on how many plants and how long you are going to veg will determine the size of the pot you are gonna use. I grow monster plants

Make sure to keep the light not too close not to burn your plants if the light is too far the plants will stretch and become lanky. I use 1000 watt now for bigger yield.
 
Ok... lets try this again. I got home and was thrilled at all the reading I had waiting for me... LOL, and I started to reply to a lot of things... Then my Internet decided to take a crap and disconnect for 30 minutes... lets just say thank god for solitaire! Haha

Capt Jaz... something about a purple CFL??? I saw a blue one at home depot... here are the specs for the blue one:

It comes in a variety of color, but it doesn't have any actual color temp. Not sure if this is what your CFL is like, but wanted to make sure you double check. I thought these bulbs were a great idea 'til I read the specs. LOL

I was actually looking at the same ones (ballast with both 6500K and 2700K bulbs), and its about $100 cheaper than the MH/HPS system... still haven't made any official decisions... LOL, it's all a matter of pressing one button or the other.

I currently have the JOY of having my mother here ALL DAY!!! So it's going to be slow-going post's today (LOL< slow-going for slow growing)

Didn't get a chance to hit the store last night... smoked all night instead (which was MUCH needed!)

Temps are 81 with 37% humidity...

Once the baby goes down for a nap, its going to be a 'smoking n wrapping' marathon.

Mom is finally gone!!! YES!!! Going to go help a friend wrap her x-mas presents (she's colorblind, so she's not very good at picking out bows and ribbon and shit like that if ya know what I mean). Lol, and I will be setting up my cheap $20 light system later tonight... easy fix til I get the real things.
 
I am feeling so fucking ingenious right now!!! I put together my little light system, and if yal don't mind me tooting my horn a bit, I'm F-ING PROUD!!! So I got 3 Y splitters, 3 socket/outlets, a power strip (surge protected) and 6 new 60 watt 6500K daylight full spectrum CFLs (obviously the little ones) I was having a bit of trouble as how to hang them above the plants... and this is where the ingenious comes in... LOL... I took a chaffing dish rack (the thing that holds the pan of food) and flipped it upside down... low and behold, four legs just turned into four hanging places... so I fit the power strip with all the lights secured to the rack, taped that Son-of-a-bitch together with packaging tape (only thing i really had) and hung it with yarn on my pre-existing hooks. All I had to do was run another extension cord from the wall to the power strip and presto!!! I can adjust the height anytime with the yarn and my babies are getting some bright ass light up close and personal. ... I will post pics as soon as I find out where the fuck my phone is... (its ok if I dont find it, bc I'm getting a new one for x-mas LOL) After I turned the lights out and walked into the dark basement, all I could see was 6 bright ass spots!!! LOL... really happy I figured that one out. I should get some sleep... I have a full day of baking ahead of me, not to mention the rest of the f-ing x-mas presents I haven't wrapped yet. Gotta love the holidays, love 'em even more when their over!!! Hahaha... I mean HO HO HO!!!
 
Just wanted to share a 'stoner moment' thought with ya... Wouldn't it be awesome if people posted pictures of decorated 'trees'... we could could vote on the best decorated bud!!! Who needs Christmas trees... I'm just kidding! Tired, but the kid decided it would be a fun idea to get up at 4:30, and not go back to bed. I think she's getting sick, which sucks! And I am pretty sure it is my mom's fault. They were both coughing all day (probably because she turned my heat down to 62 bc apparently she thinks 71 cost too much $$$- and she's right but GD! 62!!! 67 maybe... I live in michigan you crazy bitch! LMFAO) Looking forward to smoking with my Father-in-Law on Christmas... Love that old man!

improvising is all you can do sometimes... I like to think I'm just creative. Thinking outside the box! Imagine a box with all the 'squares' in it, now imagine all the space around that box, overflowing with free thinking, amazing people. Thats were I want to be.
 
Finally back home... feels like we spend just as much time driving as we do with our family... and even though I didn't get any sleep last night, we still had a really nice christmas. So what did everyone get???


The first set of true leaves are getting huge on my 1 plant, and i can see tiny little first leaves starting to form on my other two sprouts. This full daylight CFL set up has made them grow a lot more than they had before.
 
Glad to hear you made it home safely. My wife got me the best Christmas present that I can remember since my first bike. Not going to have cigs in it for long since I'm quitting, but that'll just leave more room for my meds!

Good luck with the quitting, its a nasty needless habit, nicotine is a poor excuse for a drug too. I smoked for 30+ years, in the end I'd worked up to 2+ packs a day(count the 12 beers a night and thats some serious shit), people all around me talking about quitting, some even going to a hypnotist (all 3 of those failed) . I run a application on my phone as a reminder , its called smokers statistics and tells me how long I haven't smoked, how many cigs I haven't smoked in that time, how many dollars I've saved, life gained in day. Says I quit 2 years 3 months 17 days ago, saved about 6k , life gained 163 days. But anyway I wish you luck, its a nasty habit to break, I quit cold turkey on my birthday , for months and months later I wanted a smoke, I have people that smoke all around me and pretty much anymore it doesn't bother me. I knew this one woman who quit for 7 years then suddenly picks it back up, thats insane and won't happen to me. Now xanax on the other hand may or may not be a problem of mine(haven't gone without for awhile).
