I get a lot of gnats in Happy frog. Super easy to get rid of. Their presence just means you have really good soil.

Has nothing to do with the roots. You're getting better flavors because of the longer dry period by hanging a full plant. The longer the dry period, the more chlorophyll gets removed, which in turn makes the cure period shorter.

You can make up for the lack of UV by running a higher canopy temp. I run at 82-84F @ 50% RH. They explode in resin production

UVA does nothing for plants. UVB (when used correctly) increases trichrome production. UVB hurts plants, it's not good for them. So when they get hit with high amounts of UV, their response is to produce more resin in order to protect themselves from the light. Human skin does the same thing...
