When to switch to HPS from CFL?

As soon as you switch the lights to 12/12 is when myself and most switch to HPS from florescent's. I don't know if keeping the florescent's on helps control the stretch by a couple inches or something but who has time for these meaningless things anyway. I wish i could afford to run my 400w...

How long until this clone has a big enough root system to support itself. Pics

Like i said, i stop pulling it out once i see roots. I don't pull it, i just spend 10 minutes brushing off the soil to check for roots. I won't completely remove the second one from the soil though. This is the first and last time these roots will see the light of day.

    lights left on

I'm on 24/0 because i have light leaks where i veg and the fact that dope only grows with lights on unlike other plants that need a dark period in veg . I haven't noticed any difference between no dark period and a dark period.. There are a few theory's as to why people think it grows better on...

Newest leaves yellowing at the base. Help ID issue. Pictures included

Definitely too much nitrogen. You can tell by the burnt tips and dark color. The new leaves are yellow because the plant is growing faster than normal, probably due to the excess N. They eventually turn green. Cut down on the feeding. A little bit of yellowing is fine like on the newest...

Should this plant look like this?

What type of lights do you have? 2x 23w cfl's would be more than enough to keep the plant happy for a few weeks while you get some more supplys. You must have your lights too far away from the plant.

    size of cannabis seedling?

If the soil is 100% dry a couple of hours after watering then it definitely isn't over-watering. It's something else. You'd need the plant sitting in wet soil for a couple of days unable to breath for it to be overwatered.

    size of cannabis seedling?

I don't know what it is if it isn't overwatering as the symptoms look identical to overwatering, but there is something that is causing it to droop. I have successfully transplanted 3 seedlings into different soils before just by brushing the soil away and only keeping a small rootball...

    size of cannabis seedling?

Well they're displaying symptoms of over-watering with the puffy looking leaves and droop. Like this over-watered seedling: They should be more perky. how long does it take for that pot of sticks and dirt to dry out?

    size of cannabis seedling?

It's a tiny bit behind scheduled but it's nothing to be too worried about. 3" high with only two true leaves is a little tall (stretched), you should lower your lights. Start off with 1/4 strength nutes when the cots begin to die

    First grow

I had tight internodes with my three cfl's so it's definitely not the weakness of the lights that is causing them to stretch This pic was taken on day 2 of flower under 400w hps but this was pretty much the result of vegging with 3x cfl's. The only problem with using such little light is slower...

    lights left on

I mean like switching between 18/6 and 24/0 everyday. You have absolutely no risk of hermi's by leaving the light on for 60 hours then switching back to 20/4

    First grow

this was mine at 1 1/2 weeks: I'd say your plant is growing at a fair rate but improving your lighting will speed it up. As you can see i was using 3x 23w CFL's at the proper distance. You probably have them too far away. I'm not even going to comment on that medium.

My First Grow Ever, what do you think?

I just hope next time you go for cfl's instead of ambiant light from a window. Can you get some cfl's on it or something to improve the yeild?

Wtf is wrong with my bitch???

lol i know, i didn't read that part. Edited it out. Anyway, you should have some nitrogen during the first couple of weeks while it is stretching. I feed N throughout flower
