    Growitup Greenhouse 2011

My journal is not very up to date but when I get my computer back up I'll snap a picture. We're doing 300gal 'smartpots' filled with coco coir. All the indoor is coco too, and I agree it can be a problematic medium for the inexperienced hydroponic grower. It's mostly figuring out a proper...

Cacium Deff? Came Back from Up North and Bam

Salts get 'locked up' in mediums like coco, peat, ect. Salts hold an ionic charge that can cause them to be 'bonded' to an alternately charged medium. Water also normally holds an ionic charge due to dissolved minerals and salts without too much complex chemistry the water needs available...

    Growitup Greenhouse 2011

Medium is definitely key, I'm using coco coir in my greenhouses. I would like to see how Black Gold stacks up against FF!

C99 is some badass shit. Never heard of that cross but if it has c99 in it, probably pretty damn good

    Anyone Have Problems with Hygrozyme?

Beneficial microbes have their place but physan is the BEST greenhouse disinfectant product (and bleach ;)). This guy was talking about using it to clean, not add to your reservoir.

Cacium Deff? Came Back from Up North and Bam

I think you guys are getting improper ph readings. Too much salt build up on your medium can cause ph difficulty. Nor sure what medium you're using but a high quality potting soil should buffer it self. RO water is generally a poor choice to flush, it contains no ionic charge making it difficult...

Cacium Deff? Came Back from Up North and Bam

It's just nutrient burn leaves curled, dark green. Too much nitrogen advanced case of 'overnitrification' calcium lockout tends to be a byproduct of this too. Flush your medium with some mild cal-mag to wash out some of the accumulated salts.

    Anyone Have Problems with Hygrozyme?

I use enzymes to break down roots in left over coco to be re-used. Hygrozyme works well when used properly (low doses) there are plenty of good enzyme products on the market. Hygrozyme is actually a re-marketed floor cleaner. Pretty simple stuff, I think people over think it, root rot has only...

    The Real Scoop on Co2

So 100,000 BTU worth of propane with the BTU measurement being taken before condensation produces 8.21 pounds of water. If the water is allowed to condense before measuring the BTU, you only get 7.53 pounds of water. You burn more natural gas for the same level of CO2 enrichment vs. Propane if...

    The Real Scoop on Co2

Bottles are great for small spaces, they produce no heat. Burners are definitely the way to go if you have a room. I've found that Natural Gas releases less humidity into the air VS Propane. I use an IPM (integrated pest management) system to control mites and CO2 is just one of the ways I...

How Many Amps from a Basic House?

I agree all grow rooms should be wired with a minimum of 12gage wire, 14gage is common residential wiring. Spreading the load across multiple circuits works and running 240v lighting will cut your amperage in half.

How Many Amps from a Basic House?

You can pop a bigger breaker into the main panel but usually the electric company will require a line upgrade for that. It's pretty unlikely much would happen to the incoming if you "upgraded" the main to say 200amps. Utilizing all that amperage would probably not be smart though, Fires just are...

crazy wilting! needs some expert advice

Overwatered, don't foliar feed. Make sure the whole pot drys out and some water flows through. Your flourescent light is not very bright so thy probably will not need water very often.

    The Real Scoop on Co2

You need to invest in a split unit compressor outside the room with refrigerant lines running to a condenser unit inside. It's also necessary to scrub the room air or exhaust it and replace with fresh at least one a day.

    The Real Scoop on Co2

My light intensity is extreme with vertical lighting without fans the leaves fry. I think stuff in the CO2 produces more resin, the buds look candy coated as oppossed to really covered with naturally aspirated rooms. Density might also play a factor here too. Heat stress will just screw...
