    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

It's a data made for uniform lighting from several cobs, so I'd say we really don't care about for grow ;)

    Best color temp for veg?

I'm speaking about Watts, no PAR Watts ... I can't remember the right process for vero18 ... I'm running about 30~40W/sqft of those for flowering , so I think for veg the standard should be way lower ... Rahz: I believe church was speaking about phytochrome here.

    Best color temp for veg?

Hi guys, I am about to build a veg light, so I'm very interested in this the deep red seems to be important during veg, less stretch, more roots ... but I'll get it from 660nm led, not higher cri ... otherwise, the 4000/5000k seems to be the ticket ;) I've read about 15W/sqft, to use at the...

DIY light mover, idea thread. With a twist.

I love the idea, want to look at my lights moving when I'm :eyesmoke: don't care about effeciency, of course it's a important point in led technology, but personnaly the multiplication of light sources was way more attractive to me ... and it's what it's about here, kinda virtual light source...

Effects of vegging under flower/red light.

Hey man, are you sure about that ? I haven't ever used blue leds personnaly, but I've seen few grows using them during veg and plants were always very short, it's promoting secondary growth ... and I believe as you that it has the same effect during flowering churchaze: a very important point...

    Pulsed Lighting = more efficiency?

Hi guys and what's about pulsating it at a regular current ? seems ok for the led, few things to manage for the driver ... on another board, a member with quiet a good biological background, figured out the "no-light time" which doesn't disturb the plant ... I'm gonna try to find this

    V series "Tetras"

alesh: yes, your duty cycle define the percentage of current ... you see the image I posted on the last page ? Votage throught a RC filter ... seems to me that current will act the kinda the same way, trying to follow the voltage ... so it's always about the medium value SDS: I remember that...

    V series "Tetras"

I pointed out this circuit as an idea, of course some timers have to be put between the "coil" and the "switch", sorry english isn't my native, don't know technical terms ... churchaze: PWM throught a RC filter, would give you the middle value, seems good, the point here is to reduce the ripple ...

    V series "Tetras"

sds: thx a lot, it's clear now. I thought that the driver would detect difference between a "pwm signal" (high frequency) and any kind of other signal, considered as "voltage signal" ... that way it would switch between two system of detection ... so as I understand it, it's a simple voltage...

    V series "Tetras"

Lot's of great info here guys thx  as I run differents wavelenghts on different timers, I'm very intersted in those things ... I also believe in benefits of dimming, that's why I'd like to understand this point: I've read that pwm dimming produces kind of flickering, (visible on a...

Green wavelenght penetration to Lower Leaves

Interesting thing, I've already thought about it, and came to the conclusion that "our vision" is a very bad basis for thinking about leaf absorbtion ... if you have some infos about the evolution of the leaf absorbance spectrum during flowering, I'll be very interested to hear about it ;) a...

    LED Distance From Canopy

Hey, the word "interference" just triggered my mind ... I've often thought about it, light + light could be equal to darkness, if I remember well, the light loss is increasing with the phase shift between the two wavelenghts ... Two same wavelenght could also have the same effect, but I think...

    DIY CXB2530 3000K 80cri U2 bin (Vero Killers!)

Very true that high voltage is dangerous for the user, it needs to be well isolated ... but even a low voltage could be dangerous, the fire/overheating hazard is linked with high current ;)

Flip Chip Opto High Power Build Thread

Hey, waouh, you're posting a lot :eyesmoke: just a little thing, the voltage regulator you've posted, I'm pretty sure it regulates its voltage by cutting it, basically an on/off system. so I think the current waveform at its output would be kinda really dirty

    LEDs pulsing?

Hi, so you're running a cxa and 2 730nm in series, cxa is doing fine and one of your 730 is blinking ? wait other returns, but for me your 730 are about to die ... if the polarity is wired correctly, don't try it an other way

Green wavelenght penetration to Lower Leaves

Hey, I'm pretty stoned right now and English isn't my native, so I haven't understood every stuff you said, I'll read it again  just wanted to notice that green wavelenght was useful in case of high light intensity, something about carotenoids ... "[...] carotenoids participate in...
