Would a 20 year old MH bulb that was never used be worth using now? It's just a standard 250w universal mount bulb...Phillips, I think. Also, do these or HPS bulbs explode if they fail? I know fingerprints can cause hotspots on the bulb's glass which could cause it to fail, but could it explode?

Seems a bit early, but it's normal for plants to shed their leaves as they approach the end of thier run. It's just 're-distributing' the nutes to the buds. Some extra feeding might help, but watch out for nute burn.

If your seedling lost its roots it's probably a goner. Perhaps you could try rooting compound... Poor seedling, we hardly knew ye!
