    Lost outdoor crop to mold

man, that sucks that you've had success for the better part of a decade but not this go round. that's a temperate climate, no? every year just a little different, some great, some awful. having an awful fall in Oregon at the moment so I hear ya. all I could suggest is selecting strains that are...

I wish there was a NO LIKE button

racerboy, did you like/unlike one of my posts? one time my notifications said I had 8 likes, and when I went to my profile, I only had 7. my feelings were pretty hurt that somebody would do that to me. I had to rip 10 bong hits and drink a bottle of nyquil to get over it. haha I wish there was a...

Tomato cages...I say tes, my husband says "it weakens them"...No way!!!

I think roots grow so long as there is room for them to grow, and the right amount of moisture for them to grow towards. I believe the stems become stronger by building more fibrous tissue as a result of being blown around. putting the plants in a cage won't stop the wind from blowing them...

    Lost outdoor crop to mold

bummer. try checking up on them more regularly when they are in mid-late flower and it's raining. once they start to mold it's time to chop because that stuff spreads like diarrhea - fast and messy.

Drying large outdoor harvest indoors and odor control?

can fan on a carbon filter in a closed room should do the trick. you don't need the tent so long as your room isn't poorly sealed like an old Victorian might be. noisy but effective. you could also put ona gel near your front door that helps a little bit.

    RUI Highdeas

springs made of... magnets with opposite polarity. imagine a floating bicyclye seat - the shock absorption comes from the magnets' refusal to come together. try suggesting that to, well, anybody and watch their face cloud with dubiousness. doobie-us-ness. yes I am high.

Tomato cages...I say tes, my husband says "it weakens them"...No way!!!

haha cages make the roots weak. um, no. weak roots could be from root rot or gopher/insect damage... anyway the point is, some strains really do need support if they are outside. a windy rainstorm halfway through flowering can ravage a plant in minutes if the branches aren't strong enough. you...

    H202???

the water cure calls for soaking the flowers for multi days - so I don't think you're going to over do it so long as you dry the nugs out thoroughly when you pull them out. if it didn't work with the h202 then maybe try a different concentration of it.

    Your scariest moment...

had a few near misses in the mountains with avalanches and bad weather that were frightening for sure. but nothing has been as scary as the time I went to water a patch I had in mid sept one year (many years ago now). I was hiking down the hillside and heard what I thought was my pit bull...

    Open Show & Tell , Outdoors 2013

anybody else see the weather report this morning? I can't remember exactly what it said but it sounded kind of like, 50% chance of powdery mildew today, increasing to 90% tonight. Partly moldy tomorrow with widespread botrytis outbreaks throughout. Tomorrow night mostly clear with a 20% chance...

Is harvesting a plant in stages worth the extra effort?

it's quite a feeling to be watering a plant and cutting it down at the same time. but worth it if the weather permits.

does it effect floweer time when u lst while at 2 w flower

somebody smack me into place if I'm wrong, but I think it's fine to LST during flowering. LST - low stress training, emphasis on the low stress. if all you're doing is bending branches around, I don't think that's gonna mess with your flowering time

damn guys sorry to see that nasty wind damage. I used to tie the fuck out of everything with green tie, which gets to be tedious. I still use it sparingly, but started using trellis netting instead. it works awesome for wind - I haven't had any broken branches (from wind anyway) yet and this is...

    is this bud rot fightable?

cut all moldy parts off. cut the plant if the weather stays bad and the mold continues - and watch it close because it can spread very quickly. can't advise on spraying without photos... can only advise that strain selection is super important and sometimes you have to grow what will finish in...

    been budding for too long?

sometimes plants can take longer than you think they should or are advertised to - depending on nutrients used, lighting intensity, and temperature to name a few likely culprits. if you have a stable, stress free environment, and the flowers start shooting out bananas, that's a sign you've...
