Great answer! Lets see if we'll get another one.

Can we grow in trash bags?

They won't die but they are rootlocked and should be transplanted within few days if you're really asking this. Anyway, I live in europe and ordering from anywhere doesn't fit my plan for your information. I'm researching fabric pots atm. Made a new thread if you're interested :)

Smart pots need more watering - more nutes? Worth it?

I've heard great things about smart pots and root development, but it all leads to a big question. Because of the fact that they dry more quickly they need more watering. More watering also means more nutes. Is the bigger cost of nutrients worth it? Does it pay off in the end? .... I'm used...

Can we grow in trash bags?

Because it's about time to plant them into bigger pots. What other explanation could there be...

Can we grow in trash bags?

Probably bad idea, yea... But the thing is that I will need to get them tomorrow. No chance by ordering anything. I just figured the cheapest way should be DIY fabric pots. Really simple to do. Only thing is that I'm worried it may dry up roots too quickly if I make it out of landscape...

Can we grow in trash bags?

I'm considering using 30L trash bags as opposed to pots for the sake of saving money indoors. Do you see anything wrong with this idea if I don't need to move them around much? I would just poke holes near bottom through the sides for the water to drain and I'd also put some clay stones into...

Should I remove the glass from my reflectors?

So you think 20% reduction is a bit too much? Probably less?

Who are worse - thrips or mites?

But is there some kind of chemical that wipes out even spider mites? If plants are vegging, then there has to be something which doesn't kill the plant itself. Or what?

Who are worse - thrips or mites?

I've heard when mites appear, it's game over unless you start fighting them at the very beginning.

Who are worse - thrips or mites?

Who are worse and why? Thrips or mites? Can both be killed same way?

Should I remove the glass from my reflectors?

I have air cooled reflectors, but I haven't had a need to duct them, so the glass is just sitting there mounted to reflector, but now I got told by a growshop guy that this glass reduces effectiveness by roughly 20%. Could there be some truth to what he said?

How should I react to thrips on my plants?

Thank you very much for the response!!! I'll go straight to my local growshop and see if they got that Monterey Garden Spray with spinosad and if they don't then I'll go by some alternative way. Maybe they have something else or maybe I could get that soap or neem oil. I don't get it. They've...

How should I react to thrips on my plants?

Ordering from ebay takes too much time. Should I look in the local growshop? Should there be something?

How should I react to thrips on my plants?

I have quite lots of thrips on my plants. They're vegging fortunately. What should be the first thing I could do before ordering some products? Home-made items?

    What are those dots?

Wow, just found out I got bugs. You were all right about this. Thank you very much. I'll now read about those bugs to understand the situation.

    What are those dots?

Thank you very much for all the responses. Got just back to my computer and read what you said. I couldn't imagine pests could be so little that you wouldn't be able to see it with a naked eye. Or could I? I would go back and try to spot them before buying myself a magnifier, and then I'll...

    What are those dots?

I'm not foliar feeding and I can be sure there are no pests, because I have looked.

    What are those dots?

Those dots have appeared everywhere on my little plants (first picture). Then I noticed exactly the same spots on the plants I was about to harvest (second picture). I'm gonna say one thing for sure - these are not caused by any kind of bugs. Is this some kind of deficiency? I'm feeding Canna...
