Do you play music for you plants?

The mythbusters showed plants responded to music better than no music, with death metal the best, then classical, then just speech or recordings of talking, it didn’t matter if the talking was positive or negative. The conclusion was plausible, and the hypothesis was the vibrations stimulate...

    WTH are these?

Looks like a springtail to me, they are not bad and can be beneficial. They eat decaying matter. They can be a sign of problems if you have a severe outbreak, but not to worry if you have some here and there.

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

The Inkbird IHC-200 has to be calibrated before using, did you calibrate it? If not a good starting place would be to set it close to the other two if they read the same and you know they are close to accurate.

I didn’t have time to take pics of the Malawi and Golden Tiger earlier. Not much has changed, just filling in and bulking up slowly. I over did the lights early on, I have a lot of burnt tips now, but hopefully I can keep them going, for now I added a couple handfuls of tomato tone and watered...

I harvested about half of my Puck, took all the fan leaves and large stems off, trimmed a bit, and loaded in the Koolatron. I started out at 12c and 72% rh, and it’s running smooth. Here’s the koolatron loaded up. And here it is with one shelf pulled out to see how I pack it, not packed...

Week 11, the main colas of the Puck are done, so she got about 60% of the buds chopped and into the koolatron. Here she is after the chop, I’ll let these finish for a couple more weeks. I took enough to completely fill the cooler and there’s probably enough left to fill the other one, a good...

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

Thinking about my answer above, if the metal fins are touching the metal shelves that might cause an issue, make sure the shelf is insulated from the dehumidifier fins with a thermal insulator like plastic, silicon mat, wood toothpicks, an air gap is best.

I only cut the bottom tray on both of my builds. My dehumidifier doesn’t touch the next shelf up. If it fits between the bars and drains properly it should be fine.

Why is the baby quail wearing a bikini while all the others are naked? What kind of parks do you all have out there?

On the bright side, the Malawi will probably get me out of having to go anywhere on Black Friday, I’m not sure which is worse trim jail or shopping during that madness. At least in trim jail I know I’m going to get to enjoy my efforts at some point.

While I’m waiting for a drink, I’ll share a couple hump day shots myself. I have quite a few crispy leaves and tips. Next round I’m not keeping the lights as bright, I think I did more damage than good keeping it higher than my usual, but I had them at 1000-1300 on my par meter. Puck is...

I know my wife would have. She found a mantis egg/cocoon on our plant this morning and wants to keep the little mantises and feed them meal worms and crickets. She’ll nurse anything back to health, cute but a pain in the ass some times.

Stealthy ideas to duct intake fr window

Yes, you can put a vent where ever you want, your drilling a hole so make it right the first time. It’s no different than a vent for a bathroom fan, cooking hood vent or clothes dryer exhaust. The window box idea over the window will also work, just keep in mind the window will need to stay...

Stealthy ideas to duct intake fr window

Yes. Drilling in an exterior wall, either wood or concrete, is not that hard. People put exterior doors and windows in all the time. If you are not handy then go with the window route, was just giving you ideas, that is what the first post asked for.

Stealthy ideas to duct intake fr window

I mean it’s more stealthy to just put in a proper duct intake. Put in something like a dryer vent which will look like it belongs, why does it have to go through a window? That will just look obvious unless you try to hide it, not that it can’t be done. Seems much easier and less likely to...

Yes, do it from somewhere other than the window.

Week 10 update. They are all looking good, the Puck will probably come down this week, at least the top colas. She’s slowed drinking way down and is looking good to go. The Malawi is just filling in as before, not a lot of change. The Golden Tiger is filling in as well, just a bit slower...
