    How long does pollination take?

If it’s been days you’re good, it really only takes minutes from what I understand. Once the pollens in the room it’s too late to stop it.

    Deficiency in a Malawi plant

I am growing one of Ace’s Malawi, and have a potential deficiency starting. To me it looks like Mag, but I thought I’d get some input from people more experienced with Malawi than myself, I’ve seen quite a few folks here growing it lately. It is entirely at the top 25% of the plant, and only...

boiling or hot water in roots ON HARVEST DAY??

I was completely joking. They were talking about wrapping it around your private parts and…. Nevermind. I didn’t mean anyone should actually try electrocuting their plants.

boiling or hot water in roots ON HARVEST DAY??

And another bro science thread gets ripped out of the grave 14 years later to live again. I like wrapping the branches around a coat hanger as they grow, then electrifying it, that has real possibilities. Not so much wrapping it around, well never mind, a classic old thread worthy of a few laughs.

How long do landrace sativas take to finish???

Sativas tend to take longer to start budding as well as run longer. My Laughing Buddha took 16+ weeks, and my Durban close to that. I’m growing Ace Malawi and Golden Tiger now along with Puck, you can check my journal and see how much taller and behind in bud development the golden tiger is...

    Will i top them again

If they are from clones they should be already mature, topping them doesn’t work the same as topping from seed. Keep the main branches down under the net and let them run horizontally, then the bud sites on each branch will grow and become their own colas, or main heads. If they don’t have two...

    Malawi Gold

Both Ace and RSC carry Malawi. North Atlantic Seed Co carry’s Ace in the US. I am now growing the Ace version, I’ve heard good things about both, but have yet to harvest.

    Cannatrol question. When to trim

I think the hanging shelves are nice, to bad they limit the capacity to about 10% than by just putting the buds on the shelves, but you are right no flat spot. Nice looking harvest.

Beautiful night here. We rarely see swans before it gets ready to get really cold, but here’s a family swimming across our back yard this morning. Ones still an ugly duckling. I was also happy checking out Puck tonight while hanging out in the room, the frost is looking good at only 5...

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

He’s not using a thermoelectric fridge, it does get confusing. He’s trying to turn a compressor fridge on and off to slow the drying. It’s not a bad idea, just really doesn’t fully relate to this discussion.

Here’s what my environment numbers look like. This is my Inkbird sensor that shows about everything you could want to track. My CO2 stays up just hanging out in the room, it goes down to 450 or so if I’m not around for a while, but generally stays above 800 just going in and checking on...

Here’s my 5 weeks since flip update. I’ll start with the problem child, the Golden Tiger. It just doesn’t want to stop stretching, I split a branch this morning doing a bit more lst, a bit of tape and support, it will be fine, just trying to keep them under the light. I have her under the...

    Making soil for containers

For sativa strains I’m running Ace’s Malawi and Golden Tiger right now, they are looking like good sativa traits in both. In the past I’ve liked SLH and SSH, as well as Durban Poison, all had good energetic highs. My favorite sativa I’ve grown might be Laughing Buddha, another old classic.

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

Welcome to the club, that cooler looks like it will work the same as a koolatron. I wouldn’t worry too much about the hole or dehumidifier, it’s much easier than it seems. I’ve had my little dehumidifier’s running about two years now without an issue, so they last a decent amount of time.

    Harvesting in stages

I often harvest in two stages. I have had people prefer the second harvest over the first, so it’s definitely not a bad thing. The second set of buds will darken and fatten up, give them a couple extra weeks and see how they look. I think the risk of mold is minimized since there is more...

    Blaze & Daze

My Wednesday weed day update, everyone is doing well today, the GT finally slowed down on the stretch, hoping she stops because the light can only go about 8” higher before it’s on the ceiling. I can bend a few branches if needed easy enough I think, anyway here she is. Here’s the Puck...

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

I do not have any experience with your particular model cooler, but it seems everything is working fine. The temp is going to vary slightly as the cooler and dehumidifier work, that’s normal. If you don’t like it rising to 17, just set the target temp to 12c, that’s where I set mine, and it...

    SIP’n with Hook Daddy

It’s been 4 weeks now since flipping to 12/12. The Malawi male surprised me and started dropping pollen already, so last night I tried to dust just a couple branches of all three girls, figuring Puck still has at least 6 weeks to go. I tried a process I have seen a couple times before, putting...
