5 gallon buckets I have never experimented with fabric pots, but I'm going to test them out when I do an outdoor grow this spring/summer. I don't use NFTG soils but I'm also going to test that out soon as well. Right now I just use my own homemade concoction of soil.

I just water in 1gallon jugs, but usually every 2-3 days, I lift them up to determine how much water is soaking in the medium, but it dries out a lot faster since I stuck one of the fans below the canopy. I'll probably have to wait until monday though because they've had 2 flushes in 2 days.

That will definitely be overkill. I made the mistake of getting a strong fan (740cfm) for my small tent and it's ridiculously loud and it's actually sucking the walls of my tent inward. Imo the only time you'll need an 800cfm fan is if you are growing in a very large tent/space (at least 8x8ft)
