    The Seed Collectors Thread

So back around 2005 or so, I grew for the first time. I got most of my info from a couple of online forums, one of which an AWESOME dude had sent me some NO MERCY - ICE QUEEN beans to try out. It came out SO good with minimal knowledge and experience, but I’ve since never been able to find...

    LED setup for 4x4

thanks guys… so the grow won’t start for a while. At least a month or so. That being said, I’m trying to spread my cost out instead of dumping $800 at once and I need other equipment as well.. i decided to go with 2 - XS4000 in there instead of the 4 - XS2000. Im going to grab the first...

    LED setup for 4x4

I thought about that, but figured I could just dial down the wattage a bit to try and find the “sweet spot”. Not sure exactly how or where that would be lol, but figured I’d start around 40w/sq ft and slowly build up from there to see how the plants responded.. Otherwise, would adding a...

    LED setup for 4x4

I am looking to start a small 4x4 tent up using Viparspectra XS series lights. Is 4 - XS2000 (rated at 240w each) going to be overkill?

Nitrogen toxicity issue in 12/12, how to proceed?

If you feed a plant and notice heavy clawing 24 hours later, would it be best to flush it right away, or wait until it dries out? Would flushing right away cause an “overwatering” issue since the medium is still very wet? Not sure which is worse in the situation..

RF Interference from In-line Exhaust fan?!

Yeah. Kind of along the lines what I was thinking but the goddam internet has me bugging out lol.. Honestly I’ll have something so small going on i may be way overthinking this, but hey I’m paranoid and feel better safe than sorry. only looking to run 1 - 600w HPS with an 8 inch inline , some...

RF Interference from In-line Exhaust fan?!

Well “CanadianJim”.. I’m not “CANADIANBigGreenThumb” if ya catch my drift .. I know all electronics cause some rf disturbance but this seems like it is causing more than just “some” as it completely takes over the radio. I live very close by to a couple of fire houses and hospital in a very...

RF Interference from In-line Exhaust fan?!

so I’ve read that RF interference can be picked up via AM radio through digi ballasts.. is this a known issue for exhaust fans as well? I have a Terrabloom 8” fan with a speed controller that I think is causing interference but I don’t know the magnitude of it or weather or not it’s an issue...

    Scrubbing inside of a room..

Thanks Renfro that answers my question! Will keep this in mind if things get stinky.. simple enough to just add a fan/scrubber in a corner If needed

    Scrubbing inside of a room..

Not my current situation just been seeing posts about people scrubbing inside of their rooms as well and I wasn’t sure how that worked. I’m guessing you’d need to exchange the air almost as much as your exhaust setup?

    Scrubbing inside of a room..

So if you scrub the air inside the room, what would the general rule of thumb be? Ex if I have a 6” fan pulling 400cfm out of the room with a CF.. what size filter/fan combo would be needed inside the room to prescrub as secondary measure? Would a 4 inch work?

TIPS ON DUCTING for air cooled hoods

Anyone ever run the filter outside the room with this setup: INSIDE ROOM: air cooled hood (open on one side with dust cap and possibly an elbow facing upward) =>in-line fan => OUTSIDE ROOM carbon filter

Should I over OVER size my exhaust fan?

Kind of the responses I figured. Anybody running a 6” Terrabloom ECMF-150 (not the silver duct booster fan)

Should I over OVER size my exhaust fan?

The space I plan on using is only about 112 cubic feet. A 6 inch 350-400 cfm fan should easily do the job for this size area and scrub with no problem but I’d like to prepare for the worst.. an 8 inch fan basically costs the same as a 6” (difference of $9 between Vortex S600 and S800).. would...

Glad you were able to make it work!

    DYI Scrubber

I’ve successfully made DIY scrubbers out of HVAC duct caps, a reducer and a start collar, some hardware cloth and a few pounds of activated carbon from a pet store and a couple of woman’s stockings .. worked flawlessly for multiple grows on the same carbon. Best bet is to try and mimic the size...

Exhausting to outside in a basement.. ?

I’m more concerned that there will be a giant steam cloud constantly blowing out from under my house, might look a little odd. Neighbors may just think I have the cleanest laundry on the block! ‍
