The Midnight Farm Grow Journal: Welcome to the Harem

Week 1 done. Intensity hitting 1000ppfd or more in most of the room now. Watering at 6.2-6.4 PH and 3.0-3.2 EC. Temps are 86 and humidity is 70%. Took 6 males out in total. The rest look like they are showing pistils.

    Meanwell XLG 320 vs HLG320

XLG is constant power which is great. For example if your PCB draws 44V only but the driver is putting out 48V it will drop to 44V and give you extra años. So basically helps you maximize your driver watts bang for your buck. Also the XLGs all have dim to off which is nice for setup with...

Why are my grows so slow?

73ish Fahrenheit with LED is way too low. I am surprised they aren't showing serious deficiencies at that temperature. Higher temps increase plant metabolism and growth. You want to be around 80-84 with LED.

The Midnight Farm Grow Journal: Welcome to the Harem

Set the timer to 12/12 yesterday. So here's day zero of flower. Got some magnesium issues showing badly on some plants. But I think they are working it out right now. Sucks but I am out of time and need to get flowering.

Heat mat as flexible space heater in tent?

A space heater is like 1000-1500W. A heat matt won't come close. And if it could it would burn the tent down lol.

    22' x 10' Grow Room (IN-PROGRESS)

It won't save you any amperage load on the 120V circuit. and you'll have transformer losses. this is the correct advice. This is the best from an efficiency and reliability standpoint. Even price probably. For what you would pay for an adequate transformer it's probably cheaper to run the 240V...

    22' x 10' Grow Room (IN-PROGRESS)

Yes you can. But you don't want that. Running a transformer to take your 120 to 240v totally defeats the point of running on 240v which is to gain efficiency. But you'll just be adding transformer losses in addition to the drivers AC to DC conversion losses.

    CO2

5x10 or 10x10 I'd go bottles all day. That's just me though. Also bottles are a little cheaper up front cost wise.

    CO2

Depending on how you cool your grow space you need to consider how many BTU a burner will add to your room. A 4 burner will add 10,000BTU/hr to your room. It won't be running 100% of the time though so you can reduce that 10,000 BTU by a factor of the run time. But it's definitely a...

    CO2

I am assuming you don't grow with CO2 and never have. CO2 is great. It's extremely cheap comparing to the cost of electricity and can increase your photosynthesis by 30-50% resulting in roughly 30% higher yields. It cost me $70 every 2-3 months in a 10x17 flower room. When you take into account...

I'm overwhelmed. Questions about Reservoir-/Nutrient-Management and how Plants take up Nutrients.

I use 600L of water DTW a week when in full swing. It's too much for me to accept pouring down the drain 2-3x the amount used. I know all about permeate pumps etc too.

hobeskty ideal would be NOK calcium and magnesium. But a lot of calcium oroblems are really other problems. So in theory you should never need it. But would be great to trouble shoot deficiency or excess.

I googled it as well very cool. I think the calcium ones are little cheaper now I tempted to get one. Thanks PJ damn.

You have to swap your rea out weekly basically to refresh the ratio. But you can never know what the plant is up taking. It's just part of that system. Have you considered trying coco? It's the same rapid growth little easier Ph to 6.0 and life is easy
