    Pathogen Control

They were Cuttings so just water and tea. Water was 60-70 just room temperature. I had 5 12" airstones on a 300 gallon tank air pump in a 20 gallon 20x40" cloner.

    electrician advise needed

Idk if it'd be cost effective but it sounds like you could look at a zone timer. Run hot to ballast and ballast to zone timer then to lights.

How to store RO water and keep it fresh for a month?

My uv filter is sized for the pond size it's meant to filter. An airtight container with a single dose of chlorine to 1-2ppm free chlorine will work too.

How to store RO water and keep it fresh for a month?

That is strange. I'd imagine they're assuming no fish in the pond but fish in the aquarium so bigger biological load and more turbidity. I'd go with the pond rating.

    Pathogen Control

I did try it again with the tea and didn't make the same mistakes in a bubble cloner. Still got the slime.

    Continual Slime in DWC

I doubt they will, a pool store or big box store should. Nothing really better.. You don't need a medium really except maybe for support. What chlorine you gave probably wasn't enough. Except if the slime is still there physically it still won't be enough to kill it.

    Continual Slime in DWC

The hydroton may make it impossible to get all the slime, just so you know

    Continual Slime in DWC

I'd run 1ppm free chlorine continuous. Once the plants recover you can probably switch to checking once a day. Chlorine can form compounds with ammonia called chloramines though and these don't evaporate fast enough so they can build up to toxic levels. Luckily for you, it's easy to detect...

    Continual Slime in DWC

I second that. Op, you have to remove the dead roots and the slime too. The bioslime protects the bacteria from normal levels of the disenfectants and you're only going to fight a losing battle. PHYSICALLY remove the slime and dead roots from the plants and soak them for 10 minutes in physan...

How to store RO water and keep it fresh for a month?

Chlorine in the form of hocl in pure water at 1ppm free chlorine will provide an orp of over 700mV from my experiments. At 650mV and higher bacteria and viruses are killed in less than a minute. Levels that low won't affect plant growth.. Unless the container is airtight it will evaporate...

How to store RO water and keep it fresh for a month?

I filter my water with RO and it gets stored in a 55 gallon drum with recirculating UV sterilization. Any nasties even think about growing they get hit with uv.

    Gas Lantern Routine

OK, I'll be the one to say it.. Plants need light for photosynthesis, and in an indoor grow light is usually the limiting factor. I don't see how anything can be improved but your electric bill. Less light will lead to more stretching and lower yields. A weed plant can handle...

    Continual Slime in DWC

The tea gave me the slime too. You have to first clean everything and I mean take it all apart. The slime is a biofilm that the bacteria produce to protect themselves. Normal disinfectant levels can't kill the biofilm protected bacteria. Next disinfect with physan 20 per bottle...

About a pound? Uncharted HPA Territory?

Additionally, the clones are on their second day in the improved bubble cloner. I've found it's sometimes necessary to add 4mL of bleach twice a day to maintain 1ppm of free chlorine. If you're using chlorine at a minimum you really need to have some free/total ppm test strips or the chemicals...

About a pound? Uncharted HPA Territory?

I have done some further experimentation with Chlorine, ORP and citric acid as a component of pH down. I should also note that part of my high chlorine levels was due to an improperly calibrated meter. The calibration solution is only stable in the air for approximately an hour but it is...

    Pathogen Control

I wanted to see if I could confirm the data from the USDA that says citric acid will lower the ORP by interfering with the ability of hypochlorous acid to kill bacteria. As such I utilized GH pH down powder in an experiment where citric acid is listed as one of the ingredients. Here is the...

    Pathogen Control

Further research has shown that UV and ozone will both cause precipitation of iron and manganese. I have been running some experiments with ORP and calcium hypochlorite. I have included the data below. While I did not try to confirm the previous experiments by USDA it should be noted that...

About a pound? Uncharted HPA Territory?

I'm still here. Clones were just starting to show some root bumps and got the slime. It doesn't appear to be the iron bacteria I had before but rather similar to the clear bioslime from my tea. I changed the reservoir and have been running bleach at 1-2ppm chlorine verified with test...

About a pound? Uncharted HPA Territory?

My eyes seem to be deceiving me. I can't get an accurate reading on chlorine to save my life. My ORP is at 600 but I'm getting test strip readings of 20+ppm total and 10+ppm free. I'm not sure on the liquid OTO test if it's 3-5ppm free or 5-10 (it doesn't go higher). This only happens the...

Thoughts of a first grower i need your help

NBD, Yeah I mean you can read all the grow books for starters, but there's a lot of misinformation in those. Hell, there's a lot of misinformation on these forums, but the knowledge is more vast. You need to start reading scientific generals and results of scientific experiments. TBH, even...
