Help needed for new wardrobe setup =)

Hey guys, I've recently bought the below cupboard and am looking for some advice as to best set up my grow. In the 2nd picture I have indicated how I think I should set it up. Here are the specs: Main compartment 3 x 1.75 x 5 ft (LWH) and the top shelf is 3 x 1.75 x 1 ft. The rez (using...

Thinking about going bubbleponics? This should convince you...

so there was only one seed that was not put under dwc? could be a dodgy seed or genetics in that case good pictures mate and good evidence too, but i have to say the dwc seedling at 10 days seems abnormally small. it'd be bigger than that in soil!

    LST, SC, or Regular?

you should top, then lst the tops, then top the new tops again, then lst them etc - then supercrop any further growth to keep the canopy level if done right this can lead to low even canopy much like a scrog, but without the nuisance of the screen.

    Need help, getting frustrated!

If you've got the cash man invest in a rez chiller. consant rez temps of 68F mean no algae at all and highly oxygenated water too. if you're in the states have a look at a product called the ice probe - i've read in many other posts it's a really good buy. You can't get them where I'm from...

Stealthydro bubbleponic system to DWC system

dont even need roots in the res, just have the bubbles spashing onto the netcups so the hydroton wicks it up to your rockwool cubes search for a guy called illegalsmile and read his putting bubbles in your ponics thread

Slow growth and drooping leaves in bubbleponic system

good news, switching to dwc has solved my problem. somehow my plants were being overwatered in bubbleponics, despite the fact i have loads of bubbles + the manifold was set to its lowest setting =S. weird indeed. Plants are exploding now, is a pleasure to watch =D glad to hear you're back on...

Slow growth and drooping leaves in bubbleponic system

no worries man. on update on mine, removing the feeder tubes and adding some rhizotonic and superthrive has definitely helped, though they are still growing very slowly. I hope that this is due to the low ec of my tap water (0.05 = 25ppm), as it does thus not contain enough trace elements for...

Help with dwc seedling. healthy but droopy.

well that's odd then, i'm not sure what it could be if your air temps are 75 max, then your res temps should be fine - but it may be worth checking other than that all i can say is that when this happened to my seedlings, some rhizotonic and superthrive worked wonders!

Help with dwc seedling. healthy but droopy.

Roots hate light so it could be affecting them yes. Can you not just cover it up with a bit of aluminium tape or something? If it's not the water level it could be the water itself...what is it's ec? If you dont have one you do need to buy an ec/ppm meter really. Tap water that comes out with...

Help with dwc seedling. healthy but droopy.

This is exactly the same problem I had, is this bubbleponics? if so at what rate is the water coming out of the tubes? if it's dwc, where is the water level? what is the ec of your tap water?

Thinking about going bubbleponics? This should convince you...

The fact is, bubbleponics isn't really as revolutionary or as special as stealth hydro claims. Don't get me wrong, it's a good system and clearly provides superb results, but the fact remains it's still a dwc that has just been adapted ever so slightly by pumping the oxygenated water directly to...

Slow growth and drooping leaves in bubbleponic system

taking a picture and providing some more details would be good you want the bucket lightproof, so any dark colour is prefereable. i taped over my rez with aluminum tape as this helps to keep the heat down as well as stopping light getting in. are you using dwc or bubbleponics? I assume dwc, so...

Slow growth and drooping leaves in bubbleponic system

I've fixed the problem now, I took out the pump and feeder tubes and raised the water level so that the bubbles were splashing on the bottom of the netcups, i.e. i just turned it into a simple dwc. I also add some rhizotonic and superthrive, as my tap water ec is so low and my cal mag hasn't...

Thinking about going bubbleponics? This should convince you...

I do agree with you to some extent Illegal smile, but you have to admit that the interest it has garnered in this method of growing (be it normal dwc or with feeder tubes) and the resultant amazing source of help and information that is this forum, makes it to some degree acceptable

Thinking about going bubbleponics? This should convince you...

From all the pictures i've seen, and the posts i've read, I'd say the bubbleponics system speeds up growth by a couple of days, maybe two or three. I dont really understand the science behind it, oxygenated water is oxygentated water regardless of whether it is fed directly to the root zone...

    water cycle?

You can have the rockwool too wet, but as long as you make sure the water is coming out of the tubes at just a trickle you'll be fine. Smokey, search in this forum for a post called putting bubbles in your ponics by illegal smile - that posts provides all you need to know to get you going

My tap water is 0.05 EC - do I need calmag?

Gonna answer my own post here lol, but for anyone else wondering about low ec tap water and calmag, you do need it! It would also explain the slow growth i have been experiencing too so =D
