72 is fine. Much better than running at 80. 80 82 isnt ideal for x lights and this temp for that light etc..75 is ideal for the plant under any light.

If you're running at the optimal temperature you really don't need to be concerned with leaf temp vs room temp.

You want to trim up the bottoms before you go into full gear flowering. General rule of thumb is to pull all the budsites that are on about the lower inside half of a branch and deep into the plant. You get a feel for what won't be producing anything worth while. bottom branches that are flimsy...
