im not sure how much price the equivalent board is on HLG, or what equivalent product that is (im assuming similar to the hlg550 which gives 510watts). did you figure out how much you are saving vs original cost? :) 2 left thumbs here and trying to figure out if its worth it

for flowering with qb, is the 16-24 (no dim, not sure why i needto dim unless i dont have enough plants) the distnace from board to the top of plant or just to the top of the bud?

yes, i wanted to do hlg550 boards or at least DIY piece by piece because that 1000$ cost is prohibitive :P keegan did you figure out if the distance means from LED to top of plant or LED to bud site? could make a difference thats important, and would change throughout flowering!

why dim? is it just not enough plants/area to throw under the light? :P

Not sure what general consesnsus is but i see 12-24 inches used a lot. is that from the actual diodes to TOP of plant or to the bud sites (considering they will keep growing biggeR). do growers actually move the qb farther up as buds or plants grow? SCROG here
