Hydroton vs. Rockwool Cubes for Hydroponics system

rockwool or hydroton, well it depends on how often you want to feed. I personally have my feed schedule on an automatic timer so i like hydroton because it allows me to feed more. ihydroton is also reusable and i just kind of think rockwool is nasty. as for germinating a seed you can do them in...

    Droopy big sick babies

I'm willing to bet since you guys are both feeding multiple times a day with rockwool that your plants are way way overwatterred. back off the waterrings for a day or two and I bet they will perk up. Just see how long it takes for the medium to dry out.

Newbie, technically challenged, diy question, filter/exhaust, smell

If you still have a bit of smell even with the filter check out an Ozone Jr., I have one and it works great. Also for a DIY intake filter go to my started threads and you will see one.

    noob to hydro: 2 ?'s +rep

not too close, we are talking about flood and drain here not aeroponics. I flood 4x's during lights on with the first feeding 30 min after the lights come on and the last one an hour before the lights go out, the other two feedings split the difference.

At what point should i clear under my scrog?

not wrong, just different. What's the point of topping a plant that is being scrogged? i think this should work....https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/282177-enter-scrog-scroggers-united-post.html

At what point should i clear under my scrog?

that's a matter of opinion. i think it is better to have the added air flow you get up through the screen. check out the scrogger's united page, woodsmantoker is pretty much the scrog guru for this site. if you get some conflicting info and don't know what to do ask him and do what he says. You...

    outdoor plants early flowering.....

there were alot of threads like this a few weeks ago, the same thing happened to me and a lot of other people. the biggest worry you are going to have is new flowers growing on top of the old ones and having them rot. go ahead and keep hitting them with the veg nutes and cut off those premature...

At what point should i clear under my scrog?

Once your canopy is dense enough that the foliage under the screen is totally covered take anything under the screen out. i typically do a little by little and not all at once. i do this because 1. its not a chore doing it little by little and 2. there is no risk of shocking the plant this way...

    What is this drooping from!?

They are overwatterred. See the ridges on the leaves and fringe at the side? all signs of over waterring. The droop at the tips could be ph issues or overwatterring. don't worry so much, they're healthy.

What's more important: keeping lights close or relieving heat?

you need a way stronger exhaust fan to draw the cool air from the a/c into the grow space, get that and your problems with be over.

Here is my set-up to now - Need advice with extraction fan and carbon filter

i had the same tent with a 425 cfm 6" windtunnel and it worked great. i was able to control the temps just with the exhaust fan. i have a thread with it if you want to check it out. i also have a thread on how to build an intake filter as well.

Edges of big fan leaves turning purple/black - 4th week flowerin - blue cheese - pics

Based on the shape of your leaves i would say the ph is a little out of whack, so i would pay more attention to that, but other than that they look healthy. as far as watering until a few liters comes out the bottom, that's a little overkill, one liter out of the bottom would be more than enough.

    Math Wiz's Please Help

lol, it will work fine, coarse grade (bigger chunks) are better for soil because they hold less water and retain more space. fine vermiculite will not give you the effect you are going for as it holds a bunch of water and won't retain as much space.

What's more important: keeping lights close or relieving heat?

back your light off, it doesn't need to be that close anyhow. also put a fan blowing over the top of your canopy, it will help some. there are charts on the net that will show you the most effective distance to have your light away from your canopy, i would check those out if i were you. as far...

One of the FFOF bags does not go very far, you'll probably need 2 bags plus some perlite. I can't remember for sure but i think i get almost 3 3gal. smart pots filled with one bag. the perlite will help retain space for the root system as the dirt becomes more and more packed from waterings...
