you cannot run a 600w bulb in a 1000watt ballast. if a 1000w ballast is what you have then use it and get yourself an a/c off of craigslist. veg growth is a lot slower under t5 than mh. the power consupmtion with be made up by the mass amounts of more bud you will get.

T5 run cooler and are more efficient but your plants will not grow as fast as they would under the same wattage HID bulb. In a 4x4 area i would run a 600 watter, thats what i did in my tent grow. HID bulbs are incredibly hot, temp is always an issue with indoor grows. i'd recomend a 600 watt HPS...
