20% is too low. Im vegging right now too, and mine is 32% and im freaking out. I try to never go lower than 40% in veg, but its winter right now and all the air is dry as a bone. Makes it difficult to raise the humidity. Heres what I do to help bring it up. I lay wet paper towels on the floor...

400 watts is plenty of light for 4'x4'. More is always better, but implying that such a setup is not worth doing is completely misleading. All of the 400w light companies recommend using them on a 4 foot by 4 foot area.

The three HPS's are providing 95% of your light in flowering. The tubes are helpful, but the HPS is the real light provider. Im kind of astonished you harvested 6 plants with one 4' shoplight. Were the nugs super fluffy?

Well really, its all about wattage. It doesnt make a difference if its HID or flouro. Turning off a 400w flouro setup for 6 hours will help just as much as turning off a 400w HPS for those hours. I switched to HPS and am using less electricity than my CFL grow. 2 150w HPS's versus 650w of flouro.

Does it make a difference to the plants? If it does, its not a noticeable one. Does it make a difference on the electric bill? You bet.

Yeah you need to give each plant about 1 square foot of its own. A 400w HPS is said to be good for a 4x4 foot area, 16 plants. But if you only have a 3x3 foot floor space, youll never get 16 plants in there. With a 3x3 area, 9 plants, maaaybe 10 or 11 is about the most youll fit.
