The fan leaves are there so that the plant can feed.. If you absolutely feel the need to cut- then just cut the fan leaves so that only half of ea. blade is there- as if you were a mobster choppin someones fingers off- THE BEST thing to do when trying to get light to those lower budsites...

supposedly it has positive results- I have never done a grow that was identical w/ and w/o co2 so I have no "proof" of it working- but if you think about it- you are supplying the plant with more of its natural "food" so it must be to some advantage... I would turn off your big fan and bost...
