I sprayed my plants with tobacco/soap water before a couple times trying to control mites. Didnt seem to effect the plants much and only wounded the mites for a time.

i use velcro and panda to seal my veg room from my flower room, but i think weather stripping and the latch will better suit your plan.

if the buckets fit it will work. the thing is each plant is only gonna get as wide as the space given. I would want to be able to walk around and check each plant, not sure there is room for that.
