    switching sunrise/sunset for 12/12

You have two 'easy' options. 24 hour light period, or 24 hour dark period. Then back to 12/12. It doesn't really matter which you choose(as far as the plant is concerned).

    Flower Confusion

So I have this idea, and feel free to chime in. The idea is rather simple, during flowering, when the flowers are developing nicely and just starting to have amber hairs, give the plant 48 hours of continuous light(confusing it to veg again), then 24-48 hours of darkness(confusing it more...

    which light setup to use?

Or get a 216W 4 bulb HO T5 fixture that puts out 20k lumens(about $250) for veg. 93 lumens per watt. Better than most MH, especially considering the bulbs last far longer than MH bulbs and don't decay anywhere near as quickly in lumen output.

    hps & cfls

They swear by high wattage HPS(400 watts or better). This is where the lumen output, even considering the higher quality light of a fluoro... is easily stomped by the shear intensity of HPS output. High output T5's can be as much as 140% as effective as HPS(even at high wattage), watt for...

    Free Widescreen Wallpaper 1680x1050

I'm not looking forward to Windows 7. XP has started a DRM-heavy subsystem(kernel deep) which has continued to get worse with every new version. I also don't really care for Flash or Shockwave. Flash video is shit, which is the majority of its use. I don't think the MPAA, RIAA, and other...

    AC units VS dehumidifiers ?

Dehumidifiers exhaust fairly significant amounts of heat. The best would be to have air from the room go into the dehumidifier intake and exhaust outside the grow room.

Psh posh. Life is suffering, an enlightened being accepts this.

I meant watt for watt. As in, if you swapped the 20 for two more 25 watt CFLs, you'd be doing very similarly to a 50w HPS. Or adding a 42 watt, and keeping the others, you'd exceed the 50w HPS. HPS systems under 400w are a waste of time and money, IMO. 250w would be a grey area....

    which light setup to use?

Lumens are for humans(ahaha). HPS produce more lumens than CFLs per watt. CFLs emit more photosynthetically active radiation per lumen than HPS. However, watt for watt, HPS emits much more PAR per watt(specifically for flowering) than pretty much anything else you can buy. :peace: Then...

    hps & cfls

50W HPS is maximally about 80 lumens per watt. Your CFLs are doing about 70 lm/W. Fluoro light is also minimally about 10% more effective lumen to lumen. So there's a very small actual difference, but it is in favor of the HPS. The choice is yours.

General consensus? 36hrs of dark before flower?

I've heard 20/4 is the best(and I use). I've tried the 24/7.... And they don't seem to grow as much as they do with a dark period. As soon as I went back to 20/4 they boomed with new growth.

    People that do without

One thing I've found helpful for falling asleep is deep breathing exercises. Slowly inhale fully, and slowly let it all out, repeat. Also, try to eliminate stimulants from your diet, such as caffeine(or for that matter alcohol and cigarettes, if applicable). For depression there are various...

Has anyone tried using LED lights to grow?

And 99% of them have likely never used them. Current LED technology far surpasses(2x) any light on the market(watt for watt), they just don't sell them... yet. The technology is there, it's just being perfected for commercialization. Current high-end commercial LED offerings rival...
